Is Olaplex the miracle it's made out to be?

My hair lightens well but I am impatient and want to go from dark brown to blonde. I have been blonde before but usually takes about 6 months of full head foils every month. By which time I am bored of it!!

Will Olaplex let me do it in maybe 2 sittings?

Olaplex is good and has some solid research behind it but I think how much lighter you can go really depends on the skills of your colourist.

I've attached some before and after photos of my hair going blonde. Before (didn't have a good before photo), a few days after first balayage appointment, and immediately after my second appointment (photo from hairdresser). For the second one I asked for a brighter blonde instead of the ashy tone I had before. She used olaplex both times and my very fine hair survived without any breakage.

Wow those are exactly the kind of results I am going for!

I really like the blonde tones in the second picture. Can I ask what colours and methods you used to achieve that?

Also, how did you get your hair so beautifully wavy. I've a natural wave but it never goes like that.

Both were done by my hairdresser. She used cloud nine straighteners to curl, let it set for about 3 minutes then used a wide tooth comb to turn it into waves. Sadly I don't have the dexterity to do it myself Sad

For the colour, at the first appointment she did it by back combing sections of hair and putting the leftover strands in foil so only part of my hair was bleached then she used two different ash blonde toners all over. It grew out really well (attached photo was 4 months later, thanks lockdown). Despite having very thin fine hair I must have had about 30-40 foils in by the end.

For the second appointment she painted the bleach on freehand and wrapped in foils. She used a warmer toner for the lengths and a slightly darker toner at the roots to disguise regrowth. She said it should look good for about 10-12 weeks. A lot of her clients go in for a toner at 6 weeks but my hair seems to hold the colour well so I haven't needed to yet.

For all my appointments she's mixed olaplex in with the bleach and then did another 20 minute olaplex treatment after washing out the bleach and before adding the toner.
