Smart trousers for work - size 18

I'm keen to update my wardrobe and stop wearing bloody jeggings to work! I'm a teacher so I don't want formal trousers, just better ones than bloody Matalan jeggings.

Where do I start? I'm 54, size 18 and would prefer the usual black, dark brown or navy options. Could anyone help out? Budget is limited... I don't shop posh!

Shop posh, shop once
Suggest Hobbs sale, filter to size 18, sort by price. They have quite a bit in the £35 to £50 range.
Also Gap "Slim Ankle" pants are good all round stretch heavy cotton trousers, there are always some in the sale.

Next trousers can be flattering and they're decent value IMO

There are many options between Matalan and "posh"!

Boden Richmonds (find a 20% off code) are the ultimate work trousers! They wash brilliantly, have stretch for comfort and last ages. I also agree with but a few more expensive pairs and replace them less often
