Heathcliffscathy · 04/12/2007 18:47

bodyshop vitamin e moisturiser:

scent 8/10
moisturisingness 17/20
absorption: 10/10
value for money 10/10

really like that.

CorrieDale · 04/12/2007 18:53

Superdrug Optimum

Scent - 6
Moisturisingness - 16
Absorption - 7 (ever so slight film left if you use too much)
Value - 10

And it has SPF15.

Tamum · 04/12/2007 19:00

I said "oh go on then" because of what I was reviewing (i.e. embarrassingly expensive) rather than because I think I'm above all this (not too convinced by the statistical validity of it all, mind...)

Eucerin lipobase

I bore for England about it every chance I get - my dry v sensitive skin is the best its ever been now with this. Get it at big branches of Boots (or little ones can order it I think).

Scent - none therefore 10/10 for me
Moisturisingness - 20/20
Absorbtion - 9/10, can put makeup on about 10 mins later.
VFM - 10/10, it's about 8 quid and I'd pay three times that for it.

Have also recently tried Clinique moisture surge - good but a bit sticky, no good under makeup and not as effective; Elizabeth Arden sensitive skin calming lotion - quite good but too light; Estee Lauder Verite sensitive range - again good but a bit too light. All far more expensive than the Eucerin.

Tamum · 04/12/2007 19:14

Oh right, I'm now convinced by the statistics, what with you having a calculator and all.

motherinferior · 04/12/2007 19:20

I am using - courtesy of posho job obviously - some ludicrously expensive Guerlain Orchidee stuff, and the serum. In garish gold and purple packaging. I scoffed. I privately thought it would be much the same as Nivea.

And I am aglow, and positively dewy.

Is that punch for my sarcasm or motherinferior's access to absolutely wonderful products? (either would be fine)

Thing is I don't know how much it actually costs - can't bear to find out - so don't know if it's value for money. If you see what I mean. What price, after all, on dewiness, eh?

Tamum · 04/12/2007 19:25

It's probably £1000000.99

bagpuss · 04/12/2007 19:27

Lush Imperialis £8.75 for 45g

Scent 7/10 Smells of lavender which is ok if you like that sort of thing
moisturisingness 16/20 Good but I've used better
absorption 10/10 can't fault it really for that
value for money 8/10 you don't need much and it lasts ages

good wide shallow pot with screw top so easy to get last out of the bottom.

motherinferior · 04/12/2007 19:28

It has its own little spatula you know, that's how posh it is. Or it did, anyway.

I am so not a posho cream sort of a gel, but I do appear to look better according to my colleagues.

One to use the moisturiser, two to be supportive, one to write a book about it and two to run the creche?

katierocket · 04/12/2007 19:45

good god mi, is it this?!

Tamum · 04/12/2007 19:55

Hello katierocket, how are you? Is ds2 sleeping any better these days?

JackieNoel · 04/12/2007 20:18

Garnier Pure A daily treatment moisturiser, usually £4.99 for 40 ml. For ageing, sorry 'more mature', but spotty people.

scent 7/10 - very fresh smelling
moisturising ness 14/20 - it's light, and meant to be so.
absorption 9/10
value for money 8/10 seems to last for ages, you don't need much.

Total: 38/50

Garnier Pure A intensive night treatment. Usually £4.99 for 40 ml.

scent 7/10 - smells a bit cucumbery, a bit like Pimms.
moisturising ness 16/20 - it doesn't really moisturise very much, but that's kind of the point of it - it's got salicylic acid to 'clear imperfections and their marks' and leaves skin 'comfortable'.
absorption 9/10 - very light gel
value for money 8/10

Total: 40/50

noxmasname · 04/12/2007 20:44

Decleor Matt Fluid

scent 9/10 - lovely fresh smell
moisurising ness 20/20
absorbtion 10/10
value for money 10/10 - its £25 or thereabouts and only a small tube but it lasts ages - I've tried so many moisturisers that leave me too shiney but this is fab.

total: 49/50
