The quest for jeans...

So I was as wedded to my skinnies as Kate Middleton but over the summer I have embraced boyfriend and girlfriend and mom jeans and have found some that work for me in all those styles. I now think skinnies look quite dated and it's not a very flattering silhouette at all!

Anyway, I love an ankle book for winter but my new jeans aren't really working with them. I think I need something very specific but I can't seem to find it.

I want - slim fit, not stretchy, not high waisted, not low waisted, not ripped, not a million quid, not flared or bootcut, works with ankle boots.

Is it 501s? I don't know! Can anyone help or point me in the direction of anything they have found that matches the above?

I was just about to suggest 501s! I wear mine with trainers or DM Church boots, but I think the cropped length would work with “normal” ankle boots, or the longer length rolled up a bit.

My other suggestion before I got to the end of your post was going to be order a load from ASOS to try on at home rather than the (generally) unhappy experience of trying jeans on in a shop.

I got a pair of Editor jeans from Topshop to wear with boots over winter. They're straight leg, high waist and come to ankle length. I plan to wear with my Dr Martens. I got them from ASOS. They're tiny though - I couldn't get my normal size buttoned up ! Definitely size up as the next size was fine, great fit actually.

Monki kimono jeans might be worth a try. They’re slim, no stretch, mid rise, no rips.

I have several pairs of 501s and I think they would fit the bill. I have many many pairs of jeans in lots of different styles but these are a good fall back for me. Amazon sell them and eBay has tons.
