Maternity coat

Need to get a maternity coat for the winter, baby due Jan/Feb... or a coat that will work as a maternity coat.

Non-ugly, not too pricey, hopefully something that will work for everyday and smart-ish, waterproof and warm!

I have a toddler and we try to go out most days whatever the weather.

Suggestions please not keen on most of the ones I have seen but there are so few places where you actually find maternity clothes in store that I don't know if I am just writing off what I see online.

Happy to go second hand too ☺

Depends if you want something that might give you the option of babywearing too?
Seraphine seems to be the go to but I got a cheaper version of their parka from Vertbaudet that did winter maternity and then following winter of along walks for me. It's coming back out imminently for another winter of sling wearing, I do need to repair the pocket linings as my keys have destroyed them both but other than that it's lasted really well!

I got a parka from Dorothy Perkins when I was pregnant which was lovely and warm but no too hot with my pregnancy sweats

I would look on EBay for a Seraphine one. They have coats that have a baby wearing feature so it would suit once baby is born too.

I'm due end of December and won't be bothering with a new coat, but Jan/Feb is more tricky. I would definitely get something on ebay for the amount of wear you'll get out of it - or else get one that works with a sling as pp have suggested.

@8dpwoah I wasn't that bothered about baby wearing last time, but I had a summer baby and it was just way too hot to! I do have a wrap sling and a carrier just never got much use.

Probably convenient with the toddler too, though DS will be 18mts when baby2 arrives so I'll be with a double buggy I reckon.

[quote Mariell]Not waterproof, but shower proof.

JoJoMamanbebe have a few inexpensive coats -

I have this (got it second hand on Facebook). It is like wearing a tent but I suspect that's kind of the deal for maternity coats.
