WFH tops to wear with leggings

...and still look (at least somewhat) put together on the school run/errands?

Is it possible?

I permanently WFH but am on video calls pretty much all day. But also, I WFH so can't be asked to sit in my little desk setup in uncomfortable trousers.

Is there any combination that would actually look acceptable to wear outside and been seen in?

Tunic tops

Hides lumps and bumps and knicker line

TheOpportuneMoment · 11/09/2021 19:06

I wear a lot of oversize shirts, ones that cover my bum but still look smart on a video call.

saltedcaramelanything · 11/09/2021 19:14

@TheOpportuneMoment I was thinking this. But does it look okay as an outfit outside the house? I'm worried about looking ridiculous with my top/bottom half dressed for different things

I have a couple of pairs of thicker, ponte style leggings with seams down the front, which are OK. Thinner ones I still feel a bit self conscious in so would probably quickly change into jeggings.

saltedcaramelanything · 11/09/2021 19:50

Could I ask where you've gotten thicker leggings from? @TheOpportuneMoment

Seasalt have good tunics that work with leggings but look acceptable on calls.

I really like the look of oversized shirt with a long tank top over aswell. This would look nice with leggings

ADreadedSunnyDay · 12/09/2021 16:00

I wear leggings all the time but under tunic dresses / shift dresses / smock dresses / tunic tops, or even oversized shirts. I like to layer and will often put a longline cardigan or oversized or long hoodie over said dress if heading out or wear a vest under oversized shirt. And footwear is converse or mid calf boots or DMs or similar. Works for me.

RavenclawsRoar · 12/09/2021 16:04

I've been browsing online for tops and noticed oversize shirts that cover crotch and bum definitely seem to be "in". I wonder if this is why!

SheWoreYellow · 12/09/2021 16:09

Bear in mind it’ll be coat season soon. Smile

I’m currently wearing
Pattered smart shirt
Waist or knee length cardigan
Jeans
Nice trainers

I think it looks just about ok for both work and walking the dog through the woods to school. Grin

SheWoreYellow · 12/09/2021 16:10

Sorry, the jeans bit doesn’t really answer your question.

Jokie · 12/09/2021 16:39

Following! I've been looking at looser shirts /t-shirts

Sainsbury [onte leggings
black but also in khaki , red, brown and check
the seam at the front makes them smarter . good thick material

saltedcaramelanything · 12/09/2021 18:23

Oo where have you seen these @RavenclawsRoar ?

Think that's what I need - as despite being relatively petite, I still can't get on board with wearing anything that doesn't cover my bum/crotch with leggings

Do a search for 'oversize t shirt' or 't shirt dress', oversize sweater/ sweater dress, jumper dress etc - as mentioned above quite popular right now, maybe try places like Boohoo, H&M, pull& bear, asos?
