Defined red lips but dodgy top lip line

If you have a darker top lip line, do you wear a darker shade or same shade lip pencil when wanting a defined look? I've realised my makeup looks too simple as i never wear lip liner but am not sure how to make it work

I wear this and "paint" my lips. It gives a sharp outline, doesn't bleed and a deep enough colour to cover any differences in your natural lip colour. It also has incredible staying power - literally 24 hours.

@StCharlotte ironically I have this and it's great (in front runner) but never looks as sharp as on Instagram

I use a Chanel lip liner in a neutral/nude shade, even with bright red lipstick. It gives lasting definition & doesn’t highlight the obvious differences in my lip line.

Rule 1: never confuse Instagram with real life
