Discovered new curly hair gel that I love!

I just wanted to share this as I haven't heard much about it but it is really working well for me

Umberto Giannini Curl Jelly

I bought a small size to go in my hospital bag a few months ago and I bought it purely because it was one of the few products (if not the only one) of that type available in travel size.

I first used it in hospital with no other products (as I didn't take anything else except shampoo and conditioner) and it really tamed my hair. It looked healthy and without any frizz.

I have used it since, with other products, and it's probably the best curl gel I've used. I have just bought the curl Creme and mousse. I used them all today and really pleased.

I recommend them if you have curly hair!

I don't fo CGM by the way.

Ooooooh, thank you - I’m looking for some new products for super-curly DD. I’ll look out for them 👍🏼

FlorenceNightshade · 10/09/2021 19:30

Ooh thanks for the tip! Although it’s so annoying that what’s perfect for one curly head can be useless for another Grin Hopefully this is good for my curly mop too

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 10/09/2021 21:40

I'd be interested to know how others find it!

They are 3 for 2 at boots at the moment so I also got the mousse from the same range and this creme from the super curly range

I do CGM and I love this gel

Junobug · 11/09/2021 10:29

I opened this thread thinking 'My gel is great but I wonder what she's found?' And it's the same one.
It really is great. I use a little bit of curl cream as a leave in conditioner first and then scrunch it out with a few drops of argan oil.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 11/09/2021 12:13

I'd never really heard much about it so was surprised how good it is

There's also a coconut version that is amazing too.

Bbub · 11/09/2021 15:33

Do you put the gel in when your hair is wet?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 11/09/2021 15:35

Thanks Smile

RuthW · 11/09/2021 15:50

I use the curl creme and mousse and love the creme but not sure if the mousse is any better than normal.

I also use the shampoo and conditioner which is no better than any shampoo.

Stick with the creme. Fab product.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 11/09/2021 19:36

Do you put the gel in when your hair is wet

Yes, I do but the last thing I use on my wet hair.

If I'm using a leave in conditioner or curl Creme then I do those first.

The creme does seem good. I might try it without the gel next time to see what it's like.

I love this gel...transformed my curls!

CovidCorvid · 11/09/2021 19:42

I have this and not sure I get on with it. Can I ask how much you se and how and when you apply it as I might be doing it wrong?

CovidCorvid · 11/09/2021 19:44

I have the mousse as well, maybe I should also get the creme? Could you use all three together? And if so what order?

LakeFlyPie · 12/09/2021 00:51

Gel is great but other products in UG range contain silicones which spell frizz / misery for my curls

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 12/09/2021 00:53

CovidCorvid I used all three together today. On wet hair (just squeezed out excess water) I think I put on the creme first, just avoided the roots in case it was heavy, then put the mousse in focussing on the roots. I think you could switch these two around. Scrunched. Put gel on, probably 50p size amount or more, but I have very long hair. Then scrunched that a bit more.

I really recommend Manes by Mel on YouTube if you want any curly hair tips as I used to enjoy her how to videos.

Lake I think they do some CG friendly products as I was looking yesterday - maybe the yellow / banana stuff?

Athinginitself · 12/09/2021 00:59

Yeah it's really good..and cheap. I'm doing Curly girl at the moment, layer it over a cream when soaking wet. I do think I could do with something with stronger hold though as my hair Is very coarse and frizzy and I don't get a cast. I still have a lot of frizz once dry (although I can reduce that after its dry by smoothing over some cream and oil)

Dontcallmejacqui · 12/09/2021 01:03

I use this gel on my curls after scrunching with John Frieda mousse. I'm mostly really happy with the result but sometimes my hair takes ages to dry. Not sure if it's the products or maybe too much conditioner (AsIAm cowash)
