Wedding outfit help please

OK I have plenty of time but DD has just set a date of next May and I really need some help to find a suitable outfit because I am hard to fit! I am 5'2" size 10 hips etc and generous 10-12 up top. I am also short waisted - Precis petite jackets fit well but of course no longer trading. I really want smart trousers (petite sizing is too short) and jacket or jumpsuit that looks like trousers with a lace top and a co-ordinating jacket. Most of the outfits that I think would be o.k. (Ronald Joyce trouser suits etc) would make me look like one of the bisto kids and large hats make me look like a mushroom! Any help with recommendations gratefully accepted and I have a good budget. Also happy to travel to London if necessary.

Well I had never heard of Ronald Joyce and had to Google it and I’m afraid I don’t like them… so I’m probably not the best person to help but I’ll give it a shot. The RJ outfits have an awful lot of wafty material going on and I think if you’re petite you’d drown. I would go for something neater and a bit sharper. This Armani trouser suit looks fantastic to me. A good tailor or seamstress could obviously hem it at the right point. Hat wise it’s difficult without the outfit and knowing your hairstyle. Hats do not have to be big… I wore a veiled hat to my wedding and my mum wore a leopard print hat with a sharp pink suit - neither were broad brimmed. I like the shape of the one shown… I wasn’t trying to match the colour I just like the shape. I’d contrast the colour of the hat actually.

Aaaaaah. Well rather un-helpfully of me it’s from Bergdorf Goodman which is American. The fact it’s Armani might make it available in the U.K. from other sources though. You might need to be buying in the New Year when the new collections are out as colours are going to be a bit Autumnal. Suggest having a look at Net a Porter and Matches
