Dyson hairdryer - UK to EU?

lurker101 · 09/09/2021 19:51

Possibly a silly question - has anyone taken their dyson hairdryer from UK to EU and had a problem with it, or was it ok?
I remember having issues with straighteners and hairdryers breaking/being lower strength on holidays (although that may have been outside the EU can’t remember).

Don’t want to take such an expensive hairdryer and it break if it’s a known issue…..

It will be fine. Get a normal EU adapter and plug it into proper power sockets and not shaving ones and it will be fine.

Can I ask why not a shaver socket?

I've used mine in Italy without any problem. I was a bit nervous about it, because the guarantee specifically excludes use out of the country it was sold in.

Because they are a different voltage and not suitable for regular appliances and you didn't hear this from me but DH might have accidentally killed a French friend's laptop with it.

Oh no! I won’t tell anyone.
Good to know. I have a shaver plug adapter for my toothbrush so you may well have saved my hairdryer!
