Good coverage BB cream?

BeenAroundTheWorldAndIII · 09/09/2021 08:15

Morning! Popping to town soon and I am looking for recommendations on a BB cream or equivalent.
I am starting back at work from maternity leave and feel I have aged significantly around the eye area recently (I'm only 35 🥴). I also have an uneven skin tone (acne prone at times - oily t-zone).
I don't want to spend a lot on makeup for work and need something quick and easy to apply. Never used a BB cream but thought this might be a good solution as not heavy and hopefully won't cake around the eye area.
Any recommendations? Ideal from boots or Superdrug.
Thank you!

Garnier do a really lovely one!

Favouriteworstnightmare · 11/09/2021 22:01

IT cosmetics are my go to, their CC cream is great in a variety of shades and finishes. If you are near a big boots they should offer a sample or a small size and if you are happy, QVC often has great deals.

Just posted this elsewhere - but Erborian. It is hands down the best skin product I've used. Great coverage, not drying, not greasy.

It is pricey but they do small tubes for you to test. You'd have to order online though I think.

Porridgealert · 11/09/2021 23:33

Missha M BB cream on Amazon. I've light skin. I use shade 23.

SorrelForbes · 12/09/2021 11:05

Erborian

gracielooloo · 12/09/2021 16:59

Sorry to hijack your thread @BeenAroundTheWorldAndIII but can somebody help me with the Erborian shades, I’m keen to try it but don’t want to end up tangoed!
I use the Garnier BB cream in medium as if that helps any!😊

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/09/2021 17:51

If your getting the occasional outbreak ask your dr for a prescription product, hopefully your still getting free prescriptions.

I find the M&S autograph one good and it’s cruelty free. If you use eye creams try stopping them and apply a tiny amount of retinol instead if you aren’t Bf.

lotusbell · 12/09/2021 17:57

I used to use the really cheap Nivea one but got a sample size Dead Sea one in the Holland and Barrett Advent Calendar last year. Bought it full size based on that.

Bobsyer · 12/09/2021 21:49

@gracielooloo - I think there’s only three shades, where do you normally fall on the spectrum?

I use Clair, which is the lightest. In other brands I’m normally if not the lightest then a shade up.

I have tried everything, from Missha to nivea/laneige/garnier/IT cosmetics/etude house/holika holika/ silky girl/most major korean brands. And Skin 79 bb cream (pink one) is the best of them all. It wears like a tinted moisturizer but has the coverage of a decent foundation.

I have worn bb cream almost exclusively daily since I was 21 (I am 28). Its not the cheapest, but I think you do have to spend more on base makeup, you can get away with cheap blush and eye makeup but I haven't really found a good base for below £20...

Girlintheframe · 13/09/2021 07:43

I second IT CC cream. It's buildable too.

Ditto . I love the Spa Magik BB from the H&B calendar. It was hard to find for a while but I’ve stocked up now .
allsorts1 · 13/09/2021 14:39

Not a CC cream per se but similar to my experiences with CC cream, but I highly recommend the NARS pure radiant tinted moisturiser SPF 30. Absolutely fantastic light cream but serves as proper foundation, I have some spots and this plus a dab of concealer is perfect. Best foundation I've ever used and SPF in it too. Let's your skin show and be natural and dewy but enough coverage to even out tone. I would use with a light sweep of something like the MAC mineralise skin finish to help set it for the day.

allsorts1 · 13/09/2021 14:40

BB cream**😑

Mariell · 13/09/2021 15:18

I know you wanted a budget recommendation but I’ve used loads and you get what you pay for!

Lancôme Hydra zen BB cream is my current favourite.

It’s lovely.

Grandadwasthatyou · 14/09/2021 00:32

Another recommendation for Erborian. Every time I wear it I get compliments on my skin.

madamceladon · 14/09/2021 06:48

Olay do a good one. Sali Hughes recommended it.

PersephoneJames · 14/09/2021 06:50

Erborian is brilliant. Not cheap at all but brilliant

Yellowtulips33 · 14/09/2021 07:00

Erborian CC cream. Amazing stuff, total game changer.

Jellygranny · 21/09/2021 17:47

Try Tropic website or Body shop

RampantIvy · 21/09/2021 17:50

I find that most BB creams make me look tangoed, but the Bodyshop one doesn't. The coverage is more like a foundation than a cream, but it suits my pale skin colour.

Tangledtresses · 21/09/2021 17:52

@Porridgealert

Missha M BB cream on Amazon. I've light skin. I use shade 23.
I also love missha I have quite greasy skin and it's great... but I think it would be great for a drier skin too

Great coverage, not greasy or dry also spf 50++

Tangledtresses · 21/09/2021 17:53

I'm on 24 but I have an olive/orange beige skin tone
My friend has a paler skin (Irish) and uses 23

Rayna37 · 21/09/2021 17:54

I really like the Boots No7 one and have used it for years, though will also say I haven't tried any others to compare!

I have worn foundation forever and used to just use BB cream for "no make-up" days but have found I'm happy just with that now unless really going for it. Early 40s.

TheVolturi · 21/09/2021 17:57

Pure bb cream is the best I've found and I've tried a lot! Home bargains have it, and Amazon. Cheaper in hb
