Checked shirt...

Does anyone wear checked shirts and can you recommend a decent brand? Are Uniqlos brushed cotton type ones any good? Any others?

For reference, I'm size 12-14 (hips are biggish) and don't like visible branding on clothing.

I'm happy to browse ebay so don't necessarily need something that's in the shops right now - just something decent that won't look crap after two washes.

I tried on the perfect shirt once in a charity shop - it was a particular orange and pink mix which suited me perfectly but unfortunately didnt fit! I'd love to find this colour but would be happy with reds, blues or greens (no pastels).

Urban outfitters have some oversized ones that are cut to be longer at the back.

Try House of Bruar ladies’ tattersall shirts. Good quality and a wide range of colours. I also have a Regents View shirt which was an eBay cheapie but is very soft to wear and washes nicely.

Do you mean the Uniqlo flannel shirts? I haven't got of any of those but I do have two pairs of their flannel pyjamas which I think are a similar fabric (and various other Uniqlo clothing). In my experience Uniqlo clothing is decent quality which washes and lasts well. Flannel will be more suited to cold weather though.

@Plumpciousness - I think I probably do! A quick search for checked shirts earlier brought them up so I wondered how goid they are. I see Uniqlo praised a lot on here.

DS and I have about five checked shirts from Uniqlo between us, and they are great.

H&M have been doing them in different colours for the last few years. Part of their Conscious Collection I think and pretty cheap, about 15€ here in Spain.
