Bra solution for this dress?

LazyMareofEastown · 06/09/2021 18:22

Just bought this after seeing it on a sleb on insta. It's pretty much a perfect dress for me colour and shapewise - the only sticking point is the partially open back 🤨.

Am a perky 34DD (not a boast, just making clear that my bosoms don't require hardcore hoisting and lifting!).

Also, I've now spent all my money for the month on dresses so can't really justify forking out £25+ for a bra just to wear with one dress.

Anyone know of any cheap and cheerful backless bras/bra solutions?

Going braless is not an option 🥜🥜.

What about those stick on rabbit ear bras? They are fairly cheap...

BusySittingDown · 06/09/2021 19:51

Those perky pear stick on bras look good! I've never tried but I'm tempted.

BusySittingDown · 06/09/2021 19:52

Here.

BusySittingDown · 06/09/2021 19:53

Oops, sorry! Just realised that they're not that cheap!

It looks like the bra band would be covered by the lower of the two ties. Well, assuming you’re wearing the right size and the band doesn’t ride up. I’d just get a normal red bra. You could add a couple of wee loops to the inside of the second tie to thread your bra through if you’re feeling particular.

What about a toning strapless bra? I was in the same position with an All Saints top recently which has shades of green and pink. I got a strapless bra (in Sainsbury's of all places) in the same shade of deep pink as in my top.

Well you need to look at Boob or Bust firstly.

Then I'd just wear a nude bra and assume it would mostly be covered by the strap.

LazyMareofEastown · 06/09/2021 22:28

Why would I need to look at Boob or Bust Spam? I know my bra size. 33 inches underbust and 39 over. 32 bands are too tight on the ribcage in the brands I like so I deliberately size up on the band and down in the cup.

Thanks everyone for the helpful suggestions. Might hold off to see if the middle strap does indeed cover the back of a normal bra. Have a few pretty lacy red/pink bras that might blend well if so.

I am a dress with a similar back. I wear the same coloured bra as the dress and it's barely noticeable due to colour and position of the ties.

Girlintheframe · 07/09/2021 07:10

*I have a dress 🤦🏻‍♀️

Babyiskickingmyribs · 07/09/2021 07:45

Pink bikini top that ties at the back? Then it would either be hidden by the dress ties or blend in with the dress. You might want to tie the top straps to the the bottom band rather than in a halter neck style.

Snog · 07/09/2021 07:48

Love that dress!
Which celeb was wearing it on Instagram?

Onlinedilema · 07/09/2021 07:55

That's a lovely dress. If go with the pink bikini too suggestion, or how about those stuck on things you can buy in Primark. They just cover your boobs, no straps. Never tried them myself so no idea how effective they are.

StarlightLady · 07/09/2021 08:18

Contrasting colour bra. Wear it as if it’s made to be seen.

SpamIAm · 07/09/2021 13:38

Sorry @LazyMareofEastown , I've just reread my post and it came across quite rudely - that wasn't my intention at all! I misread your OP and thought you'd said your breast were quite large, and since a 34DD isn't particularly big using the boob or bust method I thought you might still be plus 4ing. No rudeness or offence intended, I just feel it's my duty to act wherever I can to ensure all women are as comfortable in their bras as I am 😂
