Kerastraight - does it lighten your coloured hair?

I am thinking about having a kerastraight treatment on my thick frizzy hair.

My hair is normally quite grey and I colour it dark brown. My hairdresser says it will lighten it and it will need colouring again a week later. Can anyone tell me how much it will lighten my hair? Does anyone have any experience of this?

Yes I’ve had it done, and yes it definitely does make your colour (if you’ve got coloured hair) fade. It doesn’t make it look awful but I did get mine coloured again a few weeks after I had the kerastraight (my hair is medium brown)

It definitely lightened my hair. Made my highlights go a really brassy yellow 😒

Is this the same as the Kerasilk smoothing treatment? I was considering having that one done. Hadn't even thought about whether it would affect colour! It's the treatment without formaldehyde (well, supposedly, not sure any of them are totally without). But maybe that makes it less harsh on colour.

Thank you 🙏

Those of you who had colour that faded - did the colour then take again properly after the keratin treatment?

I had my colour redone a week or so later and it was absolutely fine.

Yes colour was fine after although I don’t have highlights mine is mid brown x
