I feel like I spend a lot on clothes. My clothes rail suggests I buy mostly from fat face, hush, Uniqlo, JL, occasional baukjen (I'm a past Boden customer but no longer) so im spending on the upper end of the high Street and don't mind doing so BUT I never LOVE anything I buy and am never happy with what I wear always feeling dowdy and missing something. Where am I going wrong? How do I choose pieces I love and upgrade my look?

Is it because those shops make it easy to play safe with styles and colours? You can easily pull together an outfit that is perfectly nice but you blend in with the crowd.
What sort of shoes, bags and other accessories do you wear?

If you don't love items at the point of purchase, you are very unlikely to feel differently when wearing them. Only buy clothes you love, that fit you properly, can see yourself actually wearing, and work with the wardrobe you have or are trying to create. Don't shop speculatively, shop with purpose - know what you want. Perhaps find some fashion muses as a starting point.

Stitchfix might help you? I'm longing to do this as I need someone else to help me style my look a bit more. I can't afford stitchfix atm but if you are shopping at upper end of high street it might be an option for you op
