My blonde hair has a green tinge after dyeing. Help

I have dyed blonde hair, fairly platinum tbh and I usually do a loreal box dye at home to cover the roots.
This time I used "light blonde" instead of the slightly lighter shades and my hair has a definite green tinge now.
Can I just put another lighter box dye over it or am I going to have to have my hair bleached again?

The green tinge is from putting a darker colour over lighter hair without adding any ‘warmth’. The platinum colour you had was a result of removing all warm tones from your natural hair so you are left with ‘cool’ tones. If you added a ‘cool’ but darker shade you get a green tinge. If you want to go darker -
Look for a box dye with warm tones like ‘golden blonde’

Or put a ring through your nose, and a couple in your lips, a peg thing in your eyebrow and tell everyone it's a new look you're trying out.

Wash it and Smother in ketchup and leave foe 30 mins wash it twice and a deep conditioner the red will neutralise the green tinge

I don't want to go darker particularly no. I accidentally chose a darker shade of blonde. Will I be able to put a slightly lighter blonde over it?

The green is very slight

Have you got a picture

I've read about the ketchup does it work?

Ketchup is your friend here. The red will tone out the green.

Laststop · 05/09/2021 12:44

I have used it both and it did very drying due to the acidity so do a deep conditioner after

*before

Should I wet my hair before I put the ketchup on?

Or buy a red toning shampoo as that should do the same thing

OrangeBlossomsinthesun · 05/09/2021 14:05

I've got the ketchup on

If its only a slight tinge it should work, 🤞🤞

This happened with me and this worked a treat! It says on the back specifically for green tones. Apparently clarifying shampoo helps but didn’t work with me x

OrangeBlossomsinthesun · 05/09/2021 14:48

It worked!!! The colour is still a bit odd, mostly because it's darker than I'm used to but it's definitely lost the green tint.

That's good, I think to reduce the dark you now apply mustard and with a dash of Mayonnaise and finish it by combing through some Daddies or HP sauce.

Not really - don't do this!
