Best at home Dye for mostly grey hair.

Hi
I'm after some advice for colouring my hair. I grew out my grey at start of lockdown last year after years of colouring it. I liked it for a while but was shocked at just how grey I was after many years of my hairdresser colouring it.

I'm fed up with it now. Sadly I'm more a steely grey than a nice silver, despite my best efforts with purple shampoos etc.

I cannot afford monthly hairdresser appointments to get my roots done so I just want to colour it at home. My natural colour is a light brown, that highlights lighter in sun. Is Garnier Nutrisse No.7 Dark Blonde a good option?

I haven't dyed my hair at home for ages and previously it was easy as I was only minimally grey. Now the grey bleeds through at the sides of my head very quickly, so I no longer want to go for the brand I used before, which was Garnier Olia in a red brown.

Hope that makes sense!

Im a dark brown and used to use casting creme gloss by loreal, it's a good product and made my hair feel nice, they have a lot of dark blonde and light brown shades.

Thanks I'm off to have a look at that brand. :)

I am 100% grey and get excellent coverage with loreal casting creme. I use iced latte which gives me a light brown colour. My hair is very long and every other application i need to use 2 boxes, but I'm very impressed by it

Thanks for the recommendation. It's interesting that that's a semi-permanent one rather than a permanent dye. Do you find it fades really quickly and have to re-do it often?
