Dress for Black Tie Do

Hi all.

I'm a jeans and t-shirt girl. I have been short listed for an award in my industry and there is an awards ceremony awks and a black tie do after. I am 5'6" and a uk 12 with dark hair and eyes. Olive skin. Only shoes I have are black or pink to wear.

Please throw some ideas at me, I have no idea!

Does it have to be a dress? How about a black tuxedo trouser suit with a silk camisole. I’ll try and find a photo.

Do you prefer colours or black? Sleeves or no sleeves? Simple or fancier silhouettes? I've been looking at Ghost and Phase Eight for something similar.

There's tonnes of dresses out there, you'll have a lot if fun, and well done on your nomination!

@FromEnglandWithLove I'll be honest I've no idea re: simple or fancier silhouette but I would like to be able to wear the dress again, even if for a family wedding, etc. Sleeves I'm happy with none.

Oh and I'd prefer colour. I used to wear a lot of black, but I was a size 20 then.
