Anyone doing this?

I'm starting now for Sept / Oct / Nov (autumn capsule).

Would anyone care to share their list of what they are keeping out for the three months? I will share mine...as soon as I know what it is myself Grin

Oh I’ll have a go. Is it 33 items of clothing except PJs, underwear, workout clothes and uniforms?

AudreyTattoo · 04/09/2021 13:48

Yes that's the one Smile

33 items for 3 months, including outerwear, footwear and jewellery.

"What not: these items are not counted as part of the 33 items – wedding ring or another sentimental piece of jewelry that you never take off, underwear, sleep wear, in-home lounge wear, and workout clothing (but your workout clothes have to workout)."

From the bemorewithless site^^.

I'm just packing away a lot of things Blush

I have a list, but a few rogue items in my airing cupboard might take me over the 33 item limit, annoyingly.

I always start with shoes as they tend to be my first port of call for outfit planning !
1 pair ankle biker boots
1 pair calf height "stompy" boots (phrase coined by my 4YO, I love it)
1 pair smart/cas heeled ankle boots

... that's it so far 😬

AudreyTattoo · 04/09/2021 14:24

Funnily enough, I also started with shoes today. Although I think that was more to do with them being downstairs where I was writing my list rather than a well thought out plan Grin

The shoes I've left out are:

Black lace up, leather boots
Brown knee high boots
Burgundy pointed flats
Navy pointed flats
Red canvas trainers

Shoes out which don't count are my hiking boots and gym trainers (which need to be replaced soon).

I'll have a go.

Thinking off the top of my head for now:

Work:
Grey trousers
Checked trousers
Black skirt
Grey skirt
Blue skirt
2 jackets
2 black tops
Floral dress
Black trousers
Black shirt
Black suede heeled boots
Black flats
Brogues
trench coat

Play:
Jeans x 2
Black lightweight jumper
2 t-shirts
Black cardigan
Striped jumper
Trainers x 2
Boots x 2
Jumpsuit x 2 (can double up at work too)
Denim jacket
Utility jacket
leather jacket
black midi dress
1 more top tbc

I'm not counting rain coats or lounging around clothes. I'll probably cheat and have a couple more dresses and another leather jacket, but otherwise the above would be plenty.

AudreyTattoo · 04/09/2021 16:32

Here is my list! I don't need office wear, which I think makes it easier.

Tops:

Navy long sleeve
Burgundy long sleeve
Grey long sleeve
Grey short sleeve

Knitwear:

Teal v neck
Grey v neck
Navy v neck
Navy cardi

Shoes

Already listed^^

Jeans:

Blue straight leg
Dark blue straight leg
Cream bootcut
Dark blue skinnies (for under knee boots)

Dresses:

Jumpsuit
Dungarees
T-shirt dress
Knit dress
Black shirt dress
Navy jersey wrap dress

Coats:

Camel trench
Brown parka
Duvet coat (for end of October)

Jewellery:

Pearl earrings
Pearl necklace
Gold pendant

Other:

Black belt
Black cross body bag
Smallish backpack

I think that's 33! If it isn't please don't tell me Grin. It's in the right ball park anyway.

Also, like Remus, if a couple of dresses turn up in the airing cupboard after I've packed everything else up, I won't be too strict about it. It's definitely under 40 which is an embarrisingly huge difference for me.

I have my last bag if clothes to go away into the loft.... Just have to wash a pair of jeans I wore yesterday which didn't make the cut and then all my extra clothes will be out of sight and hopefully out of mind!

I'm really enjoying the extra wardrobe space. I've been able to hang everything up, including some underwear like slips and vests, sportswear and even swimwear. My shoe rack looks positively barren and my shelf for handbags and belts does too.

I have to confess I've added a couple of extras already Blush. But the book says it isn't meant to be a punishment or precisely 33 items. I've added three more dresses, which I'd forgotten about, two scarves and a pair of gloves. Not counting things like fluorescent beanie hat and heavy duty gloves which I need for hiking in winter. I'm still under forty I think. And based on what has gone into my loft Shock, this is a big improvement.

I did this last year and it was a great experience, not sure how to link to the thread. I'm going to try a list but its going to be much harder now back in the office part time.

AudreyTattoo · 07/09/2021 16:23

Well, the scorching weather has scuppered my plans a bit! Today had me back in the loft hunting for a pair of sandals to do the school run in. Too hot for any of my chosen shoes! Also sort of cheated and wore workout clothes on the school run as that is the only pair of shorts I had out.

On the plus side, I've put away my jumpsuit, as I very sensibly and maturely realised it wasn't that useful.

I am about to put the last bag in my loft and then I'm going to do a recount.

Yes I am happy I hadn't put away my sleeveless tops yet. Gave a skirt I wasn't sure about one more whirl, love the shape but the colour is really not right for me so I'll be passing it on.
