Fashionable formal work wear… does such a thing exist? Please help me find it

This board has been so great in the past when I’ve needed a steer in the right direction. Hoping you can all come through again!

I have a (very) formal job. Full suit- trouser suit or skirt suit- must be with tights if a skirt suit (ie no bare legs), nothing above the knee, nothing remotely low cut etc, no unusual hair colours or styles. I’m about to move sideways to a role where there’s a bit more leeway - though not tons- as I’m unlikely to encounter the public much. I’m absolutely desperate to add a bit more style and fun into my work wardrobe. But 10 years plus of the dress code means I don’t know where to start. I’m early 30s, quite slim, and willing to take fashion risks in my home wardrobe!

Anyone know which shops or styles I could start with? Thanks so much 🙏🏻

Ahh … This takes me back (far back) to an era when everybody else was in cardboard-y Ede & Ravenscroft - and I used to sneak off to Browns or Wardrobe for Jil Sander …

Have you exhausted all the possibilities of Matches Fashion, Net-a-Porter and Browns? If not, they’re a good place to start online - and then seek out the websites of brands that appeal. (Sorry, I don’t know your budget - just assumed - but obviously such shops have huge sales.)

I gather Arket is the go-to place for reliable, fashionable work wear nowadays at more normal prices.
