Winter dresses?

On the back of a thread asking people about their planned Autumn activities I have decided I am not going to live permanently in jeans and leggings this winter.

With this in mind I would love it if I could have suggestions for autumn/ winter dresses which I could wear with opaques and boots.
I'm 60 , size 16 and don't work anymore but would still like to look smart ( ish).
I don't like high necklines, flowery patterns or fussy frills. I'm not adverse to a dress on the shorter side as my legs are my best feature ( so I've been told!)
Hit me with your suggestions please. I would love to surprise my family with a new look.

How about a nice T-shirt, long sleeved top, turtle neck or top under a plain straight summer dress? I do this in the autumn and winter with tights or leggings and boots. Although I am in my 30s I see no reason why someone in their 60s can't do the same?

This is of great interest to me.I realise I have been wearing harem type trousers and pair of cargoes from Mint Velvet while wait for the weight to come off.

Said weight gained 7 years ago post menopause so here to stay.
I cannot stand another winter of feeling and looking appalling so will take a look at these ideas.

I have just bought a black corduroy midi dress from Monki reduced to £30 in their sale! I tried to order a dress from Wrap but the couldn't deliver before the end of October otherwise I'd recommend them but they are pricey.

@Ljcoolgran ooh they look like just what I'm after although they are out of stock in my size. Have ordered a few other shift dresses though. What is the sizing like do you know?

Grandadwasthatyou Fairly true to size but sometimes have to go up a size depending on style.
