I ordered a skirt and it arrived but it smells, quite frankly of sweaty trainers. It seems annoying to have to return because of this but has anyone noticed anything similar. am thinking I will order another (this was from John Lewis) and see if I order direct from hush it will be better! Obs i don't want to wash as then I can't return.

No experience from a Hush item but lots of cotton items seem to have a really awful smell when new.

The last set of new sheets I bought smelled awful.
A long wash sorted it.
I think it is a chemical finish the many clothes get treated with.

Is it dark? I bought some black denim recently and it reeked. I had tro hang it outside for three weeks before the smell eventually faded.

Its organic cotton so would hope it's not chemically treated. I will visit john lewis and if they have the skirt in stock I will sniff them.

It's a pain

Wash it and the smell will be gone.If you see the conditions of the factories in which clothes are made, it is not wonder, they smell so badly. Textile is treated with chemicals for many reasons and one should always wash them before wearing them.
I find jeans are the worse.
