Charlotte Tilbury what’s worth it

I have a few events coming up including a graduation, christening and a holiday abroad (yay me).

Want to update my make up as haven’t in about 10 years. Like the look of CT - what’s worth it? Any good dupes?

I just invested in the airbrush flawless foundation and love it! They have a handy tool to determine you shade to get which was spot on. I also got the tiny concealer. I’d say that it’s good but there’s not a lot of product for the price there! I got it on a 40% off deal they did recently so price was ok.

Have a look at this. Its a year old but still applies. I do trust this reviewer and she gives dupes.

If you've got clear skin then the Light Wonder Foundation is lovely and glowy, with light coverage.

Lipsticks have some nice colours but the formulations aren't great.

Some of the eyeshadow quads are nice. The Sophisticate is not very exciting but it's a good basic neutral palette.

I was going to buy a load of CT and started a thread to be overwhelmingly told it wasn't worth it. Urban decay naked palette was suggested as much better than their eyeshadows for example.

I have several of the Matt Revolution lipsticks having tried the original Pillow Talk. I kept noticing it on another woman, loved the look and asked what it was. I love all of those I have. I have used lots of lipsticks over decades from Guerlain to Revlon and my favourites are the CT. I like the texture going on and the feel on my lips. I also find them mouisturing.

beauty pie triple luminizing and contour wands are identical to the CT version. I have owned both. you need a beauty pie subscription though. They are quite convenient and good quality but you need to remember to screw it shut or the product leaks.

I also have the charlotte tilbury filmstar bronze and glow (mini version that I snapped up at bicester village), its convenient but I do prefer a cream contour and highlighter. Milk Makeup matte bronzer is seriously good. I am using a chanel highlighter at the moment- Chanel Baume Essential Light, its quite lovely but I am unsure if its worth the price, I mean beauty pie's dupe of the CT wand is quite good too and a fraction of the price.

If you are fair skinned (caucasian/east asian), suqqu cream foundation is the best luxe makeup you can get. It is sadly hideously expensive at £68 but the best foundation I have ever tried. I did get a free lipstick when i bought my tub though at Selfridges and it apparently lasts a year. If i could only own 1 luxe makeup product, that would be it. I am convinced that you can go cheap on most other things except foundation, concealer (Nars concealer), bronzer and highlighter (the cheap ones are too glittery).

I love the light wonder foundation and eyes to mesmerise. I chose the ones for my eye colour. They are so quick and easy to use.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 04/09/2021 07:45

I like pillow talk lipstick and the stoned rises face palette

CT does some good deals and mystery boxes which can be a good way to try things

GemmaRuby · 04/09/2021 07:49

I really do love pillow talk. CT are the only lipsticks I’ve found that stay put and feel really moisturising at the same time.

ShuddaBeenMe · 04/09/2021 07:51

The packaging is gorgeous but the products are no better than revlon

You're paying a lot is money for her to advertise it all over the place.

I was so excited to get a huge box (the three tiered one) and honestly although it looks great it's the emperor's new clothes.

Claudia84 · 04/09/2021 13:32

I honestly think it’s overpriced and is the sort of makeup that looks great in photos but not so much real life. I kept buying stuff from there as it’s so well advertised and I’m a sucker but I have to say that other brands do most things better. The only thing I would repeat purchase are the lipsticks lip liner and also, I don’t know if they still do them but they did have a lovely cream blush.
For the same price you can pick and mix from other brands (chanel for base, nars for blush, ysl for mascara etc).

Sosigsandwich · 04/09/2021 14:04

I love the lipsticks, salmas secret in particular. Also the colour chameleon eye pencils which I use as eyeliner, the dark pearl is a beautiful colour. Finally the eyes to mesmerise pots, lovely colours that go on beautifully and last all day.

SparklingLime · 04/09/2021 14:06

Absolutely not worth the price. All fur coat and no knickers.

Naaaaah · 04/09/2021 14:07

The flawless filter is fantastic and nothing else comes close.

Babamamananarama · 04/09/2021 14:33

I like the pressed powder and the lipsticks. The eye shadows are overpriced and don't really go/stay on well in my opinion.

BelleOfTheProvince · 04/09/2021 14:37

I like the cream eyeshadow as the colours really pop. They're nicer than pixi, which I also like but it's just not as deep a colour.

SnitchyBitch · 04/09/2021 14:42

Chameleon eye pencil in Bronze is amazing on my eyes but I go through them quite quickly as they need sharpening a lot.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 04/09/2021 15:22

I like the coloured kohl pencils. The grey and the violet one are especially flattering on me. The eyes to mesmerise cream eyeshadow was a massive waste of time to me, looked like a child applied it but then I do have oily skin. Gave it to a friend and she adores it.
