Can anyone recommend a comfortable backpack that would fit a laptop?

Not really stylish, or beautiful. I am in need of a comfortable, waterproof backpack as my current one is making my shoulders ache. I need to fit a lap top and other work paraphernalia, but don't want anything too big. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I tested lots in store (took my laptop with me!) and settled on the Knomo Beauchamp. I am very p pleased with it.

Not particularly stylish, but I put my laptop in a padded 'sleeve' then an Eastpak Pak'r. Does the job. Backpack is comfortable and can hold things like coat, make-up bag etc too.

I got an Osprey one with a laptop sleeve in it and a rain cover. The one I got was on sale on Amazon so wasn’t as £££ as usual. Very happy with it, I didn’t need anything stylish just functional.

I have a Thule commuter backpack as I sometimes part cycle my commute. It has a padded back slot for a laptop, shoe compartment at bottom, and is well balanced, padded and comfortable and keeps everything inside dry.

I have a roka london one.

Try TK Maxx? I've just bought a Nava laptop backpack from there and it's great. Neat and compact - not huge but with lots of padding around the laptop section (others seemed a bit lacking) Comfortable padded straps too.

Swiss gear rate well here padded laptop area and still enough space for the packing for a weekend away

I recently got an osprey questa for work which I've been happy with

Can't go far wrong with osprey, comfort wise, not always waterproof though.

I agree with Osprey, incredibly comfortable bags made for carrying weight. Great customer service. I’ve got this style in yellow ;

I have a Jack Wolfskin Dayton backpack.

It has plenty of padding, lots of storage compartments and it's really light/comfortable.

I love my Knomo beauchamp. Best work bag I ever got.

I second the Roka ones. Loads of different colours and my laptop fits perfectly into the laptop pocket thing. Lots of space for other stuff too even though it doesn't look very big!

I have a Fjallraven. Not a Kanken, it looks like a regular backpack. It had a large separate laptop pocket at the back.

North face jester

hellsbells99 · 04/09/2021 07:57

The Mia Tui bags are good

FlyingScott · 04/09/2021 08:15

Have a look at samsonite.
Check sizes on all bags from anywhere though as some of them only fit a small laptop.

Tickly · 04/09/2021 08:17

I have a Samsonite. I am pleased with it. Takes laptop, couple of phones, notebook water and snacks. It was on sale so good value on the day compared with the Knomo
