Should I buy this dress

I've been looking at this all summer and almost bought it several times. I've seen in on a person and it looked nice
I don't know what is holding me back. End of summer perhaps, a bit skint and it's a throw on, casual dress
Wish it was £40Grin

Should I buy this dress
OP posts:

Honestly I don’t think coral works well for many people. It’s nicer in the deep blue or the green. I like a smocky pockety dress as well but this one would drown me.

I have something similar from Seasalt…I like it for schleppy Sundays. It’s not available any more. I think you’d like it.

LawnFever · 01/09/2021 20:41

No, I don’t like the colour, the shape (or lack of) and it looks pretty crumpled even in the picture, not keen at all

Edmontine · 01/09/2021 20:44

Hmm … Having seen more pictures - I definitely don’t like it. (It’s not my style anyway, but I was trying to see it through your eyes, OP.) It’s drab.

You could have a look at kowtow for shapeless clothes with a cooler vibe … Still a bit left in the sale.

pictish · 01/09/2021 20:48

Damn those dresses on Kowtow are UGLY. I know ugly is in, but I’m not buying it.

pictish · 01/09/2021 20:56

Coral is an awkward colour…it’s not pink, it’s not orange…it’s blorange.

Iamthewombat · 01/09/2021 21:00

No, no, it is a sack. I get that you like sack-style dresses but there is a world of difference between that and an actual sack.

sylbunny · 01/09/2021 21:01

You mean you don't want to look like an extra from the handmaidens tale? Grin
Edmontine · 01/09/2021 21:03

They had one actually pretty frock at the beginning of Summer, pictish. I bought it. It’s sold out; hence no photo on the site.

I like something about their clothes, but haven’t yet been convinced enough to buy anything else.

Though I should say the fabric of my dress - cotton poplin, not jersey, is outstanding.

LadyFannyButton · 01/09/2021 21:04

No.
I’m sure the model has a gorgeous figure under there but it makes her look like a frumpy lump.
I like the colour & I like pockets but I do not like that dress. Sorry.

ThatSunnyCorner · 01/09/2021 21:08

If you like that style, there are loads of cheap options like this one: www.redwholesale.co.uk/italian-front-pockets-quirky-style-linen-lagenlook-sponge-dress.html

With a bit of googling you might find something similar to the one you like.

whatthejiggeries · 01/09/2021 21:10

I honestly don't know why anyone would look at that and say I really want it. It's shapeless and the colour is meh - still each to their own

billiebeeme · 01/09/2021 21:10

Sorry I think it's horrible. It's just so shapeless would make most folk look bigger than they are and don't like the colour either.

AnyFucker · 01/09/2021 21:16

Even those models on Kowtow look fucked off with what they are wearing

Atalune · 01/09/2021 21:19

I think it would make me look like a big lumpen turnip.

ApolloandDaphne · 01/09/2021 21:22

I have a wool dress a bit like that from Seasalt. It is effortlessly comfortable.

HauteGirlSummer · 01/09/2021 21:23

Hmmm, it looks a little meh 😒

At £40 abs above it's a definite no. If it's under £15, buy it just for the comfort factor.

ApolloandDaphne · 01/09/2021 21:23

This one.

Should I buy this dress
DukeOfEarlGrey · 01/09/2021 21:25

It’s a big no from me. A misshapen sack looks good on no one. Does look comfy though!

HauteGirlSummer · 01/09/2021 21:25

And not abs! 😑
Actually here it is cheaper www.woolovers.com/womens/tunics/womens-linen-pocket-tunic-dress-18074
And you get 10% off with your first order.

CoastalMum101 · 01/09/2021 21:42

This is the second post in as many days that I’ve seen on here by someone listing after something a Victorian orphan would wear. I’m probably hideously unfashionable but why not just save yourself some money and cut some holes in a potato sack if that’s the look you want?

Screwyoularry · 01/09/2021 21:44

I got something very similar (shape not colour) from Shien. It was about £12 last year. I wear it with skinnies & ankle boots in the autumn/winter.

MrsSkylerWhite · 01/09/2021 21:45

I think you’d need to be quite straight (up and down, not sexually) to carry it off as intended.

If that’s you, then yes, it’s lovely.

Bluntness100 · 01/09/2021 21:49

Yeah that’s linen it’s going to crumple something shocking and you’ll look like you’re wearing a big coral sack that needs a good iron,

Nomorefuckstogive · 01/09/2021 23:18

No.
