Hello,
What is a good repair treatment to use? My hair feels like straw at the moment!

I feel your pain , a hairdresser took inches off mine and since I've used olaplex and Philip Kingsley's elasticizer but it still feels awful ... olaplex number 3 and number 8 are what I'm using so looking forward to seeing the recommendations

Disabrie22 · 01/09/2021 18:21

It’s using Olaplex in the actual dye that makes the difference first in my opinion - and then number 3 has a culminative effect

Northernlass99 · 01/09/2021 19:12

Olaplex number 3. Discount on Look Fantastic at the moment.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 01/09/2021 19:34

Redken protein shampoo and conditioner.

ocpwr · 01/09/2021 20:29

Joico k pak is fantastic. I use olaplex first then joico, my hair has been bleached for 10 years and this combination makes my hair really soft and healthy.

Disabrie22 · 01/09/2021 23:50

My hair dresser is a big REDKEN fan too

Naaaaah · 01/09/2021 23:52

You need to use Olaplex 0 first, then 3. 3 on its own won't make it feel better.

TableFlowerss · 01/09/2021 23:55

Olaplex number 3 2/3 times a week. I bleached mine myself last year with a 40% bleach (far too high for a novice) and I was terrified it would all absolutely off.

So I done some research like you and bought myself some olaolex and my hair was absolutely fine. I genuinely think if I didn’t use it then it could have snapped an inch from the root. Pleased to say it’s been bleached at the hairdressers since and she was 😱 when I told her what percentage bleach I used.

It saved my hair

TableFlowerss · 01/09/2021 23:58

To add- there are different numbers as the above poster suggests and I think some of them are even for nourishing.

I use Olaplex No 3 and No 8. My hairdresser also uses Olaplex in the bleach but I don’t know which one it is. The 3 is a hair perfector and I sleep with it on and the 8 is a hair mask.

Alpenguin · 02/09/2021 00:11

Fudge damage repair is much cheaper than olaplex and leaves my Bleached hair really soft and smooth. I loved olaplex but it’s way too expensive for what it is.

At the risk of becoming a boring repetitive bastard

Stop using shampoo and co-wash instead.

What do you mean by co-wash?
Naaaaah · 02/09/2021 01:35

Conditioner first, then shampoo.

Trying81 · 02/09/2021 09:01

Olaplex 6 for me - the leave in cream. No high heat too, the difference since using that and a Dyson airwrap is incredible

Wash hair with ASIAM. I buy it on eBay. No need for shampoo at all

Sorry I’m coming across as thick but what’s ASIAM? 😂

Redken purple shampoo. It’s magic

Olaplex 3, 4, 5 & 6
Redken extreme anti-snap treatment

Uptoongirl · 02/09/2021 15:28

Not so much a product recommendation but I've just bought a heated shower cap (you heat it in the microwave) to use alongside my deep conditioner. I use Olaplex but I'm hoping the cap will make it even more effective - I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I will report back!

Since having my hair bleached I have also been using Ouai leave in conditioner spray, I still use in-shower conditioner as well so just as an extra.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 02/09/2021 15:53

this stuff is amazing, I'm not sure how the ingredients compare to Olaplex but having tried both I find this just as good but much cheaper!

FreeBritnee · 02/09/2021 16:02

My new love is lube. Someone on here recommended it and it’s bloody amazing. Scrunch it into damp hair alongside whatever products you use.

Miracle29 · 02/09/2021 16:07

Bleach London mask is a good alternative if your looking for something cheaper. I used this when my haor was bleached and I loved it
