What hair colour is this?

I would say it’s a mousey brown colour.

It’s my natural hair colour and I’ve always disliked the ambiguity of it. So,e people say I’m blonde, others say I’m brunette. I want to change it up but I’m not sure whether to go lighter or darker.

That looks like dark ash blonde to me - at least, that's the name of the colour on the box I use Grin.

It's hard to tell whether you should go lighter or darker without knowing what eye colour/skin tone you are, but your hair is gorgeous! Smile

shouldistop · 31/08/2021 15:11

It's beautiful, I'd leave well alone Smile

Disfordarkchocolate · 31/08/2021 15:13

I think it's a lovely hair colour. Definitely not brunette to me, more of a dark blond.

Duvetflower · 31/08/2021 15:14

Mousey. Light brown.

My DD has this hair colour and I refer to it as 'dark blonde', mostly 'cos she's 5 and cries easily :-D

fallfallfall · 31/08/2021 15:16

You haven’t dealt with any mice lately have you? They don’t have beautiful golden hair.
Dark ash blond is perfect.

Fetchthevet · 31/08/2021 15:18

Whatever it's called it looks lovely x

Xztop · 31/08/2021 16:29

Same colour as mine. I call it mousey. The trouble I have now I'm getting on a bit is covering the greys. I've got slightly lighter shade highlights to hide them but because I'm lazy and dont keep up with the roots it doesn't really notice as I've only gone a shade or so lighter.

Palavah · 31/08/2021 16:31

My hairdressee called it 'durty blonde'

chaosrabbitland · 31/08/2021 16:34

its a lovely shade , but then im biased as its my dds hair colour .

ashmts · 31/08/2021 16:36

It's similar to my hair too. If you fancy a change I'd go lighter first, as it's easier to go dark from light hair than vice versa when you want another change!

Angryfrommanchester1 · 31/08/2021 19:16

Dark blonde! It’s very Nice. It would go lighter or darker very easily, personally I’d try balayage with some lighter pieces.

IDontThinkSoNo · 31/08/2021 19:17

I would call it light brown and I think it looks lovely

JMAngel1 · 31/08/2021 19:56

Exactly sam colour as my DD's - I would calk it dark honey blonde - it's not ash as it's more warm than cool.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 31/08/2021 20:14

Dark blonde. I really like it. You might appreciate it more if you start to go grey like me... then have to dye it

Boood · 31/08/2021 20:36

That’s my natural colour and I call it mousey brown. More light brown than dark blonde, I’d say, but pretty much in between the two. I have honey-ish highlights put in to brighten it a bit, and have an ongoing battle with my hairdresser, who is determined to make me blonder 😂

dammit88 · 31/08/2021 21:01

Id say light brown and its really nice!

Gatekeeper · 31/08/2021 21:04

Its beautiful...either dark blonde or very light brown

Passthecake30 · 31/08/2021 21:04

Light golden brown, looks lovely. I’d leave it as it is, but if/when greys come in, add some highlights.
Or maybe colour the ends?

KintsugiCat · 31/08/2021 21:04

Bronde

goose1964 · 31/08/2021 22:57

It's similar to mine and it's either dark blonde or light brown or if I'm in the sun it's light auburn. I'm going grey, or more correctly silver so I'm sort of metallic looking outdoors. It's a very common colour often called mousey because it's hard to describe

DramaAlpaca · 31/08/2021 22:59

It's more light brown than dark blonde. I'd suggest going lighter.

Reloxa · 01/09/2021 09:43

I have the same colour, I call it dark mouse. I go lighter as it takes highlights well.
