flat shoes (casual)

Help needed, please, on ideas for flat shoes for everyday wear. I'm not really a sneaker person, and hate ballet pumps, until now I have lived in boots or espadrilles when flat is needed (I'm a heels person normally but life has changed hasn't it!).

Aged 51, short, my style is probably a bit conservative with the occasional European influence.

Many thanks.

Loafers? What's your budget?

wink1970 · 31/08/2021 12:12

Happy with up to £400 if they will last. The ones I’ve seen seem a bit old fashioned (mind you my default is R&B so I’m probably not helping myself 😅)

You can get flatform ones, contrasting soles etc so they're not all 'classic' styles (tho I have to admit if someone gave me a pair of Gucci loafers I wouldn't turn them down).

How about Clergerie brogues (at the top of the budget, natch Smile ): uk.clergerieparis.com/collections/derbies

I've got Weejuns penny loafers - I love them.

These are great ideas thanks!

Though @crispinglovershighkick now you've got me looking at the Gucci site! Sigh.

Sorry Blush Grin

M&S do some shoes which are almost like a ballet flat but better supported and with higher closure so they look much more stylish. I also hate Bfs but these work for me.

Usually around £30 and comfy!

If you like European styles, have a look on Bobbies, Rive Cour and Jonak
