Someone on another thread recommended "The Knotty Ones" for sustainable/ethical knitwear.

I feel I have found my holy grail of cosy, chunky, non-polyester cardigans here and am thinking of going for a "Tom" in black.

At £200+ it is definitely an investment, however I am willing to pay the price for the Cardigan that may end my hunt and for one that ticks lots of boxes re ethical clothing.

Has anyone ever ordered from them before?

It might have been me. They've on my wish list, but oven I haven't ordered from them...yet.

I’ve recommended them a few times too! I’ve got a few things from them. The stuff I’ve had I’ve been happy with and the styles have been gorgeous - always get compliments on them! I’ve got The Laumes, Heartbreaker, Marina and the tie up vest top. I’ve worn the Marina all summer and it’s still perfect. The Heartbreaker I wore all winter and it did get a bit bobbled but was easily sorted - and that’s to be expected with wool.

If you like the style of them also have a look at Myracle Handmade - some more out there styles but also a couple of chunky cardigans more like the Tommy cardigan. I don’t have anything from them but follow them on social media.

@TuftyRusty I think I am going to take the plunge. My only reservation at the moment is that The Tom doesn't have pockets, so have emailed their CS to see if this is something they can do... And will check out your other recommendation too! Thank you!

@TuftyRusty Still waiting on a response from customer service. Did a little survey at work (well, one person) re Am I a bit mad to consider spending £200+ on an item of clothing I can't feel or try on first... The answer was "yes" ... That being said I think I have already convinced myself!

@TuftyRusty It came! And I LOVE it. Totally worth the money, I'm so pleased! It came with a little card introducing me to the lady who made it, which made my day too. Gorgeous weight to it, really lovely fit and looks just like the picture.

As an added bonus today, I went out to the charity shop for a browse for a couple of new (second hand) dresses for work (ditsy florals in autumnal colours - to wear with boots and opaque tights and my new cardi of course...) And found a black chunky knit crew neck jumper from ME+EM, 80% cotton/20% wool for £6! Get in!

Ah, I’m so glad you like it @LittleWingSoul! Mine has the name of the lady who made it sewn in to the label - I loved finding out a bit about who is behind the clothes. Good charity shop find! I don’t know about you but I’m secretly willing it to get colder to start wearing all my autumn/winter stuff

@TuftyRusty I am... But also being careful what I wish for!

One more question... Do you machine wash yours? I know it says dry clean only but I plan on wearing this a lot, and regular dry cleaning would make this harder...
