I LOVE the sleeves and v-neck on this top. I think they are called cape sleeves? Is that right?

I've googled for something similar - it doesn't need to be ultra cheap - up to £250 - but just not £400 ! I've had no joy because I'm just finding long cape sleeves and high necks.

Anyone seen anything similar? At a push a dress with similar would do but the dress in the same range is even more expensive:

I would say eBay is your friend here, just search on red peplum top.

NoviceNewMN · 28/08/2021 10:22

It's not the peplum part I really want - it's the top section - the v-neck with the cape sleeves. The structure of the top that is really flattering.

I can't find anything at all myself. If I search, all I get is short sleeved peplum tops or long, batwingy cape sleeves.

Any one seen anything similar?

Also I'm not really bothered about the colour either.

I'm looking for a top or a dress with that structure at the top.

Not the most helpful answer but for your budget could you have it made to your specs ?

It's not a top but similar sleeve style?

If you search for “v neck petal sleeves” there are a lot of options, but it depends on just how close you want to get to the Safiyya one

Like this one at French Connection

Rodders92 · 28/08/2021 10:45

At that sort of price I would find a seamstress and have it made to measure

kokosm · 28/08/2021 10:57

More on the cheap side but how about this dress?

NoviceNewMN · 28/08/2021 14:36

Thanks for the suggestions. I wanted it for a specific event soonish so don't have time to get it made but I guess I could look at that for the future.

@UserNameNameNameUser

Oh I thought these were cape sleeves not petal sleeves but I will have a look.

@Kokosm - that is exactly the style I'm after -thanks for the suggestion - but I don't like the material. It looks a bit like a cheap nightie!

The top and the jumpsuit don't really have the same sleeves.

How about: Whistles

NoviceNewMN · 28/08/2021 14:59

Sleeves are great on that one @IchHabeSiebenFlowers but I'm looking for a v-neck as well.
This is the problem I've run into. All the cape sleeve tops & dresses I can find seem to have high necks.

It’s the kind of shape I associate with designers like Roland Mouret (see below for examples from his current and a past collection) - maybe browse on sites like Vestiare to see if you can find a second hand one? (They will also sell Safiyaa, btw).

No alternatives to suggest but that top &the dress are really really nice and so unusual. Love the sleeves.

I'd be inclined to just get the top Blush

NoviceNewMN · 29/08/2021 12:23

@Lougle - thanks - that is nice although I think that has petal sleeves rather than cape sleeves. It's a good fall back option though.

Thanks also for the Vestair suggestion.

I think maybe that original design is a one off. Part of the reason I like it so much is that a v-neck and cape sleeves would be so flattering particularly if you don't have ultra toned upper arms. I'm suprised more designers don't make similar.

It seems like if there is a cape sleeve it is assumed the wearer must want to cover up totally so they tend to be long tending batwingy and also have very high necks!
