Is this what passes for quality now- Nike mid blazers?

Bought a pair of Nike Mid Blazers from a reputable U.K. high street shop. The tongue looks completely unfinished, with exposed foam ( see photo). That’s a bit shit for shoes that were listed at over £80, or am I massively out of touch?

I’d bought 2 pairs to check sizing, and both were like that.

I noticed this on a pair of Nike my son was trying on. Luckily he chose a different pair that were a more standard finish.

Google is your friend... but I did it for you..

Attached should be a photo showing the top view of shoes with foam exposed clearly on the tongue.

At the risk of sounding 150 years old - is this not 'the style' nowadays?

I agree though OP, I bought some shorts from Zara, about £30 and saw the hem was unfinished when I got home. Took them into store to exchange and every pair was like that. I ended up finishing them myself, what a joke.

I have low blazers noughts about 8 years ago with the exposed tongue foam. I think it’s a conscious design choice which just happens to be cheaper given it’s a vintage/ retro design

It's a design feature, I personally wouldn't buy them but surprised you didn't notice

"Exposed foam on the tongue provides a throwback look."

Okay, consensus is mea culpa for not noticing 😁 Not sure whether I’ll keep.

If it helps OP- as I said mine are about 8 years old, get semi regular wear and are still in decent knick, so the cheaply foam tongue isn’t an indicator of overall quality!
