Where do you get your shower caps from?

I have fallen into the bad habit of using disposable shower caps. Where do you get a decent shower cap from? My easily frizzy fine hair won’t let me go in the shower without either washing my hair or wearing a shower cap!

Local chemist fir around £6! Lasts six mont/a year, wash or replace if gets stinky.
I need one as I have hair too short to put up, but big and curly so gets wet in shower.

Primark usually has a few and they’re reasonable quality considering they’re a couple of quid.

I got mine from Vagabond Bags Ltd on Amazon. White coated cotton. Its brilliant.

TheSpottedZebra · 26/08/2021 20:47

Also Wilko.

There was a 'specialist' shower cap retailer posted on here once and they were really swish!
But I've forgotten the name of it Blush

I've just treated myself to a luxury Shhhhhower one. It hasn't arrived yet. I was getting fed up of the cheaper ones where the elastic wears out quickly

I have one of these www.boots.com/kitsch%C2%A0luxe-shower-cap-palm-leaves-10286116
It’s the middle ground between a cheapo shower cap and an absolutely ridiculously priced one.

I thought all women with long hair wore a shower cap until some visiting friends saw mine in the bathroom and took the piss Grin
I also have very fine frizz prone hair so it’s a necessity.

Moonface123 · 26/08/2021 21:39

I have long thick hair that gets frizzy in the shower and l get some lovely shower caps from Amazon.

EL8888 · 26/08/2021 22:34

@Fluffyandsilly l thought all women did until recently, when a friend of mine set me straight

Independent chemist. It’s pink, frilly cost £1 and I have had it 15 years and it looks brand new still. I did not know they made them disposable Shock

Rayna37 · 26/08/2021 22:48

I use disposable ones from hotels but they last for months! I do have a "proper" one one but just find it a bit odd, too heavy/thick and generally a bit ridiculous.

Wigglegiggle0520 · 26/08/2021 23:08

Yes it was! Thanks!

Please will you come back and review it once it arrives?

dannydyerismydad · 27/08/2021 09:54

DH bought me one of the fancy Shhhower ones for Christmas. I'd never normally spend that much on a hat that no one sees (or probably one that people do see). It's fab though. Fits snugly but doesn't leave a "crease" on my forehead, it contains all my increasingly long hair and 8 months on is still like new. I did have to learn a different technique for putting it on though as it's only elasticated at the back, not all the way round.

StarlightLady · 27/08/2021 10:34

I get mine from hotel stays. I don’t use them in the shower, but they are great for wrapping shoes in when travelling.

TheSpottedZebra · 27/08/2021 19:23

Ooh, thanks for review, dannydyerismydad !
It would be good to avoid that lovely forehead crease... Grin

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 27/08/2021 19:33

T k maxx seem to have the best ones I have found, they last ages too

LizzieMacQueen · 30/08/2021 09:21

@TheSpottedZebra

Here's my review !

The new cap takes slightly longer to put on, 2 seconds really, as you want to tuck in all your hair. But, it. Really holds your hair in place. I really like it. I've started keeping it on until my whole morning routine is done - so moisturiser & make up - even dressing without my hair getting in the way.

I got mine when Feel unique had a 20% off everything otherwise at £35 I might have been put off.

So I will ditch my old one - that's a chemist bought one - and go with my new shhhhower one. Yes, I do like bright colours!
