I posted this thread yesterday- www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/4332466-Has-anyone-actually-thrown-out-donated-sold-all-of-their-clothes and am really looking forward to having a clear out.

I am hoping to replace my bulging wardrobe with a small selection of lovely things. I want everything to be able to be hanged- nothing shoved into drawers apart from socks and underwear.

I have lovely coats, shoes and bags so this isn’t a problem- it’s just everything else! I would love some ideas for key pieces.

I am looking for knitwear, plain bottoms and some tops for everyday wear. I have enough occasion and going out clothes that I love- it’s just the daily wear.

I have lipoedema so anything non stretch and fitted on the bottom half is basically out. I need treggings not trousers, and stretchy blend pencil skirts. I’m also a bit over my happy weight (it’s coming down!) at the moment so stretch in general is great.

Thank you everyone!

The best thing I did for stream lining my wardrobe was to have colour analysis. I went to House of Colour. Now I know what colours suit me and the clothes I own co-ordinate. I’ll never forget our first big holiday after my colour analysis DH asked me about my packing. He couldn’t believe how little I seemed to be taking but it was because everything co-ordinated! As well as colours, they make suggestions of what types of clothes help to build up a wardrobe.

I get what you mean about stretch and comfort! I’m Autistic and I had loads of steroids last year and I wear a lot of stretch clothing! I favour jersey for looking smart but comfortable. I like wrap dresses and leggings for smarter occasions.
What I can say is I feel confident I look good even in comfortable clothing because I know which colours suit me.
