Sheepskin slippers

Hi, I need a new pair of sheepskin slippers… would prefer a flexible, not hard sole and want them to be really thick wool inside & last! Has anyone got any recommendations? Am tempted by Ugg, but not sure how well they last? They have some moccasin ones I’m looking at with good reviews. Normally I go for a mule style.

Thank you!

Celtic co. They do a hard or a flexible sole. Still lovely after a year! They are expensive normally a code for 10% off and free delivery online

I definitely recommend ugg, absolutely brilliant, still going strong and have worn them every day for two years. Heavy wear too bearing in mind work from home etc. They are worth paying extra for.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 25/08/2021 19:45

To add mine are mule scuffette style.

Tequilamockinbird · 25/08/2021 19:46

I also recommend Ugg. I have the slip on mule type and they've lasted almost 3 years so far. Really hard wearing and so comfy and warm.

I’ve had loads UGGs are the best, worth the cost as they last the longest

CheeseMaiden · 25/08/2021 19:47

Another recommendation for Celtic & co, my current pair have lasted 8 winters so far. A lot of their styles are machine washable with their special sheepskin wash and keeps them looking like new

FreshApricot · 25/08/2021 20:04

I'd also recommend Celtic & Co. They're quite expensive but really thick and well made. Mine have lasted years and I wouldn't be without them in winter.

I recommend ugg slippers I love them and live in them when I'm at home. I even have two pairs of old ones I use for the garden and decorating as I can't throw them out 🤣

changingusernamecosofthis · 25/08/2021 20:16

@GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough I am the same!! I use my old pair for outdoor work, still sturdy as anything!

MMM2 · 25/08/2021 20:19

Celtic slippers just wouldn't stay on my feet, they weren't supportive at all, a waste of a lot of money

OneFootintheRave · 25/08/2021 20:23

I have the Ugg ankle boots in navy. I only wear them inside. Bought mid 2016 and still going strong. Re glued the sole on one once but I reckon another 3 years in them at least.

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 25/08/2021 20:27

@changingusernamecosofthis I've never managed to kill a pair yet 🤣

Frumpypigskin · 25/08/2021 20:45

My Ugg slippers have lasted 4 years and are still going strong, I think they're worth the investment and will purchase another pair when this pair eventually give up.

I had a pair of Just Sheepskin slippers which only lasted a few months, they were replaced and the sole on the replacement pair came apart within a few months too. Their customer service department was also the rudest I have ever come across.

Journeynotdestination · 25/08/2021 23:13

Thanks for the recommendations everyone! I’ll check out both Celtic & Ugg again. Seems like Ugg might be long lasting, which may sway me!

Celtic - mine will be 10 in November and still going strong.

toddlermom · 25/08/2021 23:20

Shepherds! The Swedish brand. By far the best sheepskin slippers I have ever found. Much thicker inside than ugg or any other, I love them!!

TunnelOfGoats · 25/08/2021 23:25

Westmorland sheepskin have some lovely ones. We've got them and they've lasted years. Well made, and great customer service from them too

BurningTheToast · 26/08/2021 06:25

Celtic are great and really long-lasting, plus they'll repair them if they wear out. I've also got a pair of their water resistant ones which stand up to walking on the beach (although I don't paddle in them!).

Also, Celtic are a British company, and support British farmers by buying their fleeces. Ugg are mostly made in China.

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 26/08/2021 06:29

Costco kirkland uggs are amazing and ÂŁ20
Also a fan of celtics
Latest uggs were disappointing tbh.
(I love sheepskin slippers)
Off to google shepherds now

Celtic are a fab company so I would support them (and I do, mostly via beautiful knitwear, but also a pair of boots and some new slippers that are waiting in their box under my bed for autumn to hit).

I also love Kiwi Sheepskins (feel like I'm always banging their drum on here), although their prices have gone up quite a bit in the last few years. My best slippers ever are their soft-soled boot slippers, had them for quite a few years now and still wear them a lot.

Mahabis!

I love my Ugg slippers, pretty sure I bought them from the men’s section, they’re the moccasin style. They must be about 5 years old, and really easy to chuck in the washing machine, stuff with newspaper in front of the radiator to dry. I bought specialist sheepskin wash (from Amazon iirc) that does a great job with my Uggs and our sheepskin rugs.
