Best everyday eyeshadow?

Pretty minimal makeup wearer, but when I do put some on I never have anything good to go on my lids. Always feels a bit unfinished.

I normally go for matte neutral palettes, thinking colour or shimmer would look goo dressy but I'm not sure the neutrals actually suit me. I have sensitive eyes and greasy lids, the type that stuff slides off or my eyes start streaming after a full days wear.

What colour eyes do you have?

floofycroissant · 25/08/2021 12:17

Green

I've recently bough eyeshadow from TrinnyLondon - it is fab, goes on smoothly and there is a big range of neutral colours. It's not cheap but I do recommend it, and wear it everyday.

Thanks which one did you go for? Are they very glittery or good for day wear? I always avoid creams due to my skin type but might give it a go

I use Clinique matte eyeshadow my favourited are French vanilla and Portobello, they are long lasting, easy to apply, subtle but makes your eyes look beautiful.

I like maybelline colour tattoo eyeshadows, they don't budge

I like the pinky browns from Urban Decay Naked 3, but I have bluey grey eyes. I've heard that purples work well with green eyes and I'd maybe want to try a very sludgey almost neutral purply grey, but I don't know which palette you'd find one in!

I use Elf No Budge Shadow Stick, really does what it says and doesn't budge or crease on me all day. I like the shades metallic mocha and bronze metal ( not as shimmery as they sound) and good for everyday,I also have green eyes and the bronze one especially makes them pop.

I have several Mac Paint Pots. They're long wearing and tasteful. I have Bare Study, Vintage Selection (both look v v natural) and Groundwork which is a matte Taupe. There may be others that suit green eyes more, I'm very fair.

I also love this little Wet n Wild quad called Walking on Eggshells. That's my day to day super flattering quad, though usually I only use one or two of the colours iykwim.

I've actually gone through about 3 of them. You can order it on Boots and it's only 3 quid or something ridiculous.

I use the Paint Pots as a primer as it's easy to swipe them on with a finger, but otherwise you have to buy and use an eyeshadow primer. I spent all my 20s with eyeshadow sliding off, so I'm wise to it now and never just slap eyeshadow on my eyes without something underneath.

The Bobbi Brown stick eyeshadows are good. I like malted for an everyday shade. It’s sort of like a pinkish brown, putty kind of colour. Sounds rubbish but it’s lovely.

I recently got the Nars skin deep palette (it’s on offer at the minute on cult beauty I think) and I love it. Use it daily!

ChickpeaCrunch · 26/08/2021 12:21

The Charlotte Tilbury stuff in pots is nice but you don't need lots of it or it looks a bit ott

If you're looking for something on the cheaper end for every day Primark do some awesome palettes. they're really deep colours too and i love them
