So I'm just wondering if anybody has been to the Birmingham jewellery quarter before, is it any good? I'm looking for a wedding ring to fit behind my pear shaped engagement ring.. I'm after something a bit fifteenth and unique.

Birmingham is a good 3+ hours from me. Is it worth it?

Yes! Definitely. My engagement ring and our wedding rings were from there. The people who make the jewellery really are masters of their craft.

i live about an hour away, if it was 3 i would find somewhere nearer, only go if you have no jeweller nearer who could make you something.
just find one with an inhouse work shop, and design your own..

I should have said - sorry - I'm looking for somewhere that offers second hand, vintage / antique and pre-loved jewellery.. not looking for one to be made for me.

Thanks! 😁

Ah vintage, then probably not the best place, sorry op.

It's a nice day out anyway. You can go around all the little jewellery shops and get ideas. I live about 10 miles away and used to like to go quite frequently just to see the shops and items. I don't go so much now but I intend to go again soon. I have some gold items, I don't want any more and you can just pop into some shops and sell them. They weigh them and give you a price. I know you can do that online anyway but as mentioned before it's a nice day out. Make a nice break of it. Perhaps have a night in a nearby hotel so that the journey is not so tiring.

My engagement, wedding and eternity rings all came from the BJQ at a fraction of what they would have cost from the high street elsewhere. Some of the shops do sell vintage jewellery but not enough to make it worth a long drive.
