Cream eyeshadow

I've always worn powder eyeshadow but lately I've noticed it's not sitting well on my eyelids and they look dry - which is making me look older. Granted I'm mid-fifties but I don't want to look 60 just yet.

I'd always thought that cream eye shadows were ageing but have I got that wrong?

Would a switch to cream eyeshadow help? And if yes what would you recommend?

I've just switched to cream and wish I had done so before (I'm early 50s). Maybellline Colour Tattoo stays on and looks good but feels a bit thick to apply, especially the matt shades. I prefer Revlon ColorStay.

I’m mid 50s and wear cream eye shadows, usually the crayon type as they’re easy to put on

I wear Trinny London cream eye shadow. I am 49.

I really like the Trinny London eye shadows too. Really easy to apply - you can just use your fingers - and you can go for a light wash or build them up to something more dramatic. The match2me service also makes it easier to choose colours that will suit you.

Thank you for your replies and recommendations. I'll give them a try.

The Charlotte Tilbury pots are really good and buildable, last all day. I use the Oyster shade 🤎

I really like the Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier cream eyeshadow sticks, very easy to apply and stay out all day.

I would also make sure your skincare is still suitable, if your skin has changed then it might be a good idea to update what you are using. No eyeshadow is going to look good on top of dry skin. Bobbi brown makes a fabulous eye cream for dry skin called Extra Eye Repair.

I am 61 and went over to cream shadows a while back, mix of Trinni, Bobbi Brown/Revlon/Charlotte Tilbury.

My favourite eyeshadow sticks are GOSH, cheap as chips but great staying power. I use them alone or as a base for powder shadows.
