Which shoes with this prom dress?

DD’s prom.
I don’t do dresses. Or heels. Help me please.
It’s dark red sparkly floor length, low back. Figure hugging then subtle fishtail bottom. Stretchy.
What colour and style of shoes might be best? It definitely needs a heel.

Quiz do a great selection of cheap prom shoes worth a look

Oblomov21 · 20/08/2021 18:34

Sorry where's the dress picture?

poochiemaloochie · 20/08/2021 18:37

Be careful not get anything with rough sparkly bits on them as our dress alterations lady said they can catch the bottom of the dress if it is fine stretchy material and ruin it ! We went for plain silver heel sandals with a navy prom dress and it was lovely

@stripedbananas

White, cream, gold go for a light colour to look younger I think black is probably to aging.
Oh yes. This.

Same as pps I'd go for a pale gold sandal or light shoe. Red and silver doesn't sit nicely for me. It's like red and white; bad luck.

Something like this if she's slim; chunkier if not.

My DD prom will be next year and she's already looking at what she might like to wear.

I've taken screenshots of what girls currently wear to prom and most of the shoes are light coloured heels as already mentioned such as gold, silver, white, cream etc. No black or any other colour actually and no shoes matching the dress colour.

Dress styles tend to be one colour, long and a nice flattering unfussy simple cut in jewel colours or off white depending on what colour suits the individual. Hope that helps

@newnortherner111

Pity that your DD is taking part in this, cannot offer any suggestions, other than a shoe that can be worn again not a one-off.
Taking part in what. It’s Prom not The Purge
thenightsky · 21/08/2021 20:35

I think 'pity' was a typo/stupid phone/predictive text thing.

Onandoff · 21/08/2021 20:53

Cheers all. I’ll take her in to try similar on.

t bar and/or an ankle strap make the shoes easier to dance in!
