Dodgy eBay buy or not?

So my latest eBay bargain arrived today, and I love it. Much nicer than in the picture, a lovely plum coloured fitted jacket, with frilly collar and cuffs. I'm imagining wearing it over fine knits in the autumn and maybe with some pretty blouses and jeans.

Anyway, DH (who usually likes my random purchases) thinks it's awful...

Can anyone reassure me it's ok to go ahead and revel in all its 90's glory?

I think it's gorgeous -would look great over Victorian style blouses!
