Hi, I am hoping that someone with more clue about style than me can help me with ideas to revamp my autumn work wardrobe please.I am a secondary school teacher. I am late 40s, fairly slim but quite broad build with largish boobs and newly acquired Middle aged spread which means none of my current clothes fit! I am prob around a size 12. Does anyone have any style suggestions please? Thanks in advance

I’d recommend a session with a personal stylist or shopper.

A secondary school teacher myself, my basic work uniform is a midi skirt and a plain top. I try to find midi skirts with interesting patterns or fabrics but then to go with it I just wear a dark top in made from natural fibers. I have five black knitted linen vests with very thick straps and reasonably high necks and I usually just wear one of those.

Massimo Dutti usually has a few interesting pieces.

Sometimes, I swap the midi-skirt for a cotton maxi skirt. Most of these are bought from Zara.

Then, I have a couple of linen cardigans and blazers in neutral colors. Our building is quite hot, especially in the morning, so they tend to not get worn until the afternoon, or if something more formal than a lesson is happening - assembly, parents, a meeting.

I live in a hot country, so my outfits might not align well with your purposes, but the basic premise is to have a uniform (midi or maxi skirt + top) and then to buy multiples so you can just grab and go in the morning.
