Another 'help me find comfy sandals for this dress'

I bought a maxi dress last summer but haven't worn it because the white pumps I thought it would go with looked too heavy, I think it needs sandals rather than a closed toe.

This isn't the dress but is the closest I can find to colours & colour balance, my dress is more flowery.

I'm thinking white would work best. Navy if the right colour but I find blues can clash of not exactly right .Plus I have a multicoloured shorted dress needing shoes which white would go with.
I'm happy to keep an open mind on colours tho.

I need square rather than 'pointy' sandals as my big toe is smaller than the next, so end up with too much sole showing.

We usually walk about a mile each way into our nearest town for bars/restaurants so need to be comfy: no very high heels but equally completely flat not great for walking either. Wedges I find ok or a low heel.

Don't mind a little bit of sparkle but not too much bling.

I have difficult feet to fit so something from a high street retailer where I can try on would be a bonus - otherwise if online, free returns essential.

Any help appreciated, thank you.

Fitflops. They have oodles of sandals and they're like walking on cushions...and they have a sale on.

Thanks @beguilingeyes, I've heard mixed reviews about FitFlops but in the Sale might be worth trying. Other suggestions still welcome

Did you want stylish as well? Grin

These are white, squared toe, low heel and will be so so comfortable to walk in, but won't win the most fashionable sandal award.

Thanks @waltzingparrot. They tick a lot of the boxes, would prefer something a little more stylish, and was thinking under £40 rather than £110 - but realise I didn't mention budget in my OP.

I always like Clark’s sandals. Have you looked there?

rookiemere · 19/08/2021 16:45

M&S have a few good options

I have the leather two strap ones and they're pretty comfortable

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 19/08/2021 17:14

I like both M&S and Clarks for comfort bit I don't like any of their current white sandals. But thanks for suggesting.

I wear similar dresses.
My favourite sandals this year, and ones I can walk miles in, are DM gryphon, havianas (ones with a back on that I've had for years) and reiker wedges that have been surprisingly comfortable

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 19/08/2021 17:37

I think Birkenstocks would be a good option from a 'look' point of view but I find my Achilles ache if I wear anything without a back. They'd be ok if only walking a short way but when at home we walk just under a mile each way to our local restaurants.

Sorry if I'm sounding awkward, but I do have specific wants, which is why I'm finding it so difficult to find something.
I have some perfect black sandals which are Geox but picked up for about £30 in TKMaxx years ago - if I could find the same in white theyd be perfect!

I got some really comfortable white sandals in New Look this year, with a cushioned sole.
