Help with Styling a "shacket"

Hello,

I've managed to get my hands on one of the shackets in Tesco in beige and it's not something I would usually wear, it's quite boxy and an oversized fit but I love it and had fomo if I didn't pick one up Grin

Anyways how would you style it?
Just for ref I'm 27, 5ft 6, size 12-14
I was thinking it's perfect for joggers and a t shirt on the nursery run, jeans (skinny) and a t shirt or blouse and boots or birkenstocks until the weather starts getting colder or just vans, I always like layering with a chunky scarf or just with gym leggings, longline hoody and boots.

Any other ways you can think of?
Would just say I'm an average (maybe a bit chunky round the tummy from baby weight) and definitely have child bearing hips 😂 but very small bust and small waist..

Or maybe just boots (biker style or heeled) and a plain dress is perfectly fine

Anyways please just throw your ideas this way Grin I'm useless at these things..

Whilst I'm at it, any recommendations on leggings that are just black, not see through in the slightest and comfy?

Thank you Grin

Could you share a pic op?

I just wear mine as I would any casual jacket. usually with jeans & joggers, sometimes over a light rib knit dress.

countrytown · 18/08/2021 12:06

in the autumn I love them with hoodies

bingsulaflop · 18/08/2021 12:19

Thank you all, it's so versatile and had to stop myself buying different colours 😂

I think leggings hoody and boots will be a staple with it and a nice chunky knit scarf come the winter!

I want a long one this yr

bingsulaflop · 18/08/2021 12:25

@countrytown ooh yes think that would be lovely, I loved it as it covered my bum and you rarely get that in a jacket, especially when the cold weather hits, I can't wait to wear it already!

I’d wear it with loose jeans and a black cashmere jumper

I prefer mine with skinny jeans/leggings or a skirt or dress that ends above the knee (with opaque tights) to balance the oversized shacket. I'm short and hourglass-shaped so need to do that or I just look very short and wide.

What on earth is a "shacket"?

Is it similar to a shart?

Cross between a shirt and a jacket.

Very "in" at the moment so I've heard Grin

A shacket? Have you a photo?

Sainsbury's do very good thicker leggings. Get the "ponte" ones.

Sali Hughes is wearing a shacket on holiday, looks like the Tesco one, if that helps.

Are these not just your boyfriend's flannel shirt?

Fab thank you!! I couldn't manage to attach photo whilst on the app just wouldn't let me.. no it's not a flannel shirt it's a shirt / jacket - it's thick just like a jacket and really popular at the minute.

I have this shacket and I plan on wearing it with some faux leather leggings, a longish blouse or check shirt and some chunky boots

I bought their khaki version in spring and got a surprising amount of wear out of it so like you had fomo when I saw it in this colour I had to have it. Am even considering layering the two over a plain tshirt when it gets a bit chillier!!

SparklingLime · 19/08/2021 09:22

Would they go over a hoody?
