Help with casual wear - will I suit this?

I recently left a very stressful job and am now happily bringing my life back into balance! Between the job and Covid I’ve hardly had any need for decent casual wear and all my wardrobe is now corporate wear or lounge wear. I’ve also always struggled with casual a bit - I’m a tall hourglass (currently an overweight one) and look better in smart and formal wear that tends to be more fitted.

Anyway, I’m looking for inspiration and like everything the model in this Boden picture is wearing, but it very much reminds me of how I used to dress as a student (my flares were wider though ) and I’m not sure I can pull it off as a fatter nearly-41-year-old. I also feel like I’m in the midst of a period of change and wonder how I dress now! So, thoughts on this outfit? Will it suit me and what kind of vibes does it give off?

I’m tallish (5’8”) and Chubby (14/16). Those jeans would look awful on me. The flared legs make me wider, and the high waist and button fly and exposed button fly just accentuates my tummy.

Thanks everyone - I have taken the plunge and ordered these to try. I think I will definitely like the top but less sure about the jeans and won’t be able to wear the top tucked in like that. @BikeRunSki I am curious about your flares comment though - we are a similar size (I am 5’11” and size 14) but I think that flares look best on me because they help to balance my big thighs. Skinnies and even straight legs look awful.
