Best dry shampoo?

EmmaGrundyForPM · 17/08/2021 16:13

I occasionally use dry shampoo, but find it dries out my hair and also I don't like the smell. I have only used Batiste. Has anyone found a gentler dry shampoo, preferably one that doesn't smell too artificial?

Sorry to be unhelpful, but I've tried various (Boots, L'Oréal...) and have never found anything as good as Batiste. I have v greasy, fine hair that needs washing every day, so will follow with interest!

Whyarewehardofthinking · 17/08/2021 16:52

Batiste is the only one used between DD15, DD17 and me. None of thr others can stand up to it in our opinion (we have tried many!)

fuckingsickofcovid · 17/08/2021 16:55

I like soap and glory's dry shampoo

SleepWoof · 17/08/2021 17:04

One to rule out is Superdrugs coconut dry shampoo. Smells more like banana to me and does bugger all. Batiste is my favourite so far, but I use it before bed so a lot of the powder and perfume has dissipated.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 17/08/2021 17:07

thanks for the responses. I'm sure I once read (on here?) an article about a really good dry shampoo but it sounds like Batiste is the best "regular" one anyway.

Batiste all the way

dryshampooer · 17/08/2021 17:11

I've tried them all (as my username suggests!) and always go back to Batiste original.

Goodebe · 17/08/2021 17:15

I’ve tried many, including some more pricey brands, and always go back to batiste!

EmmaGrundyForPM · 17/08/2021 17:16

OK, maybe I need to see if there's more than one fragrance of Batiste as the smell is quite artificial.

Batiste really is the only one that does all of the things I want it to (degreases, gives volume, disappears quickly with no white patches).

I don't like the talcy smell of the ones I've used though - which Batiste has the freshest/least talcy fragrance?

Klorane

brittleheadgirl · 17/08/2021 17:18

Always used Batiste until I discovered Lidl's own version of it!
Absolutely amazing and actually better than the original.

Definitely agree with a pp about the Superdrug ones, they make my hair crunchy!

supercatlady · 17/08/2021 17:19

Tresseme one is surprisingly good

Poppins2016 · 17/08/2021 17:21

I quite like the Lee Stafford dry shampoos and find they're similar to Batiste. They're often on offer in Sainsbury's!

SherryPalmer · 17/08/2021 17:27

The aveda one smells nicer but is otherwise rubbish.

ouchmyfeet · 17/08/2021 17:34

Klorane do my favourite one, much less obvious and more effective than batiste in my view.

I'm trying a bumble and bumble one at the moment which is a powder that you sprinkle in your hair. I'm undecided about it. My hair looks great for far longer but feels horrible.

It doesn't smell at all

dolphinsanddoughnuts · 17/08/2021 18:41

I love big sexy hair dry shampoo, the one in the red can. Not cheap but I couldn't get on with the smell of batiste.

Snozzlemaid · 17/08/2021 18:41

Dd swears by the Soap and Glory one

Letsrunabath · 17/08/2021 18:43

Morrison’s own brand, love the smell and it works really well.

Carbis · 17/08/2021 18:45

I’ve always hated the way dry shampoo makes my hair feel but have started using Living Proof which is loads better than everything else I’ve tried. It’s expensive so I got the travel size one to see if I liked it.

longtompot · 17/08/2021 18:50

I usually buy Batiste but Lidl's own brand is really good.

Second this
MeadowHay · 17/08/2021 22:44

Definitely adding to the Batiste chorus. They do a range of different scents though, my favourite is the one with the pink floral can. I also like the one that comes out a dark colour as I have dark hair but that's more expensive so I don't bother with it, just make sure I rub and brush it in really well to avoid white patches/streaks! I've tried a few others and none have been anywhere near as effective as Batiste.

Klorane. Complete convert.
