I have been invited to a wedding (the whole thing, ceremony through to evening) and the dress code is 'formal'. I am not sure what this actually means in this context! Can anyone clarify? I'd like to wear a midi dress of some description if that fits the bill! Thank you ☺️

Posh.
A midi dress will be fine (as long as it looks pricey).

Nothing low cut or too revealing.
Dress to the knee/midi would be fine.
Hat
Jacket or some sort.

Less H&M, Primark & New Look , more John Lewis and House of Fraser at the very least.

Thanks all. Will go for a posh midi. The wedding's at the end of September so hopefully some new styles will hit the shops soon as there's still a lot of sale stuff around.
