If you were wearing this dress in a professional setting

And you could only wear flat shoes/boots, what style of footwear would you go for please?

I've been in the kind of job where I have been wearing trainers for years or dms but this is a more professional setting so I am trying to smarten up a bit but footwear is not my strong point, before I got arthritis I wore stilettos all the time (unrelated to arthritis) and I have never really cracked smart flats with dresses

Bump because the middle of the night is not the best to post questions!

Hiya.
I'd suggest a shoe boot or ankle boots like in the photos, or flat sandals that aren't too flimsy or clompy.

What about something like this.

@whoppingbigbackside i must have looked at too many dresses, i could have sworn the model in the photos was wearing sandals!

@imtoooldforallthis I really love those but I should have said no pointy toes due to the arthritis, I think thats part of my issue, I always feel like I have big clumpy feet because of wearing flats and no pointy toes

I'm clueless @Toomanyradishes, but it's a nice dress. I'm trying to figure out what to wear to the office when I go in. 'Zoom top' and old shorts is probably not a good look.
Dress code is smart casual, but some go for a City look.

The slingbacks are nice but too pointy IMO. I was thinking slightly chunkier but not overly so. Something like majorcan sandals might go.

W&B have styled a lot of the dresses with white/neutral daps. Would that be an option.

Brogues like Clarks Hamble Oak go with pretty much anything.

Toomanyradishes · 17/08/2021 18:38

I really like that daps @whoppingbigbackside but thats what I would normally go for and im trying to be a bit smarter, I may end up in them though

@nordica they are nice, im not sure why I didnt think of clarkes, i always worry about brogues looking too clumpy but i think i need to get over myself

Get ones that are plain and you can keep clean. Cream colour might look classier.
I know they are not loved on here but I have some Hotter sandals and they are very comfortable.
