Dupe for Trinny London BFF

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 16/08/2021 22:44

I’m looking a dupe for the TL BFF.

I essentially want something thats very very light feeling on the skin and basically has zero to minimal coverage but just evens everything out. The BFF is perfect but I find using it too many days in a row makes me break out along my chin in jaw with really painful under the skin spots.

I’ve been through tubes and tubes of it as I can’t find something that compares. I’ve tried the NARs tinted moisturiser and the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser which are both lovely but the formula is too thick and too much coverage for what i’d like.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I haven't tried the TL BFF but I recently started using the Erborian CC cream and it's incredible. Barely any coverage but just makes me look better. I have a port wine stain so can blend foundation and concealer in that area without having to wear heavy make-up all over. I'm a total convert. And it doesn't rub off on masks!

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 16/08/2021 23:11

I’ve heard so much about Erborian. I’m going to see if they do tester or sample/travel sizes.

I’ve been decluttering my makeup collection for years and years and can finally fit it all in one small makeup bag, so im trying to be more intentional about what I buy Grin

I've not used trinny bff but I absolutely love IT cosmetics cc cream.

ashmts · 16/08/2021 23:38

I got mine at Space NK, there wasn't a tester as it supposedly adapts to your skin tone (I'm sceptical about that, although it's definitely a great match for my skin) but the girl said I could exchange it if I didn't like it and their returns policy online seems to back that up.

I use Georgia Armani primer as a flow/even out cream and it is often on sale

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 17/08/2021 09:10

Has anyone used the Charlotte Tilbury hollywood flawless filter? Just seen she’s brought out a mini version. Wondering if I could dab that where I want it, smoosh in and then use my concealer

@blisstwins is it the luminous silk primer?

Thanks Eminy, i’ll take a wee look. I love the TLBFF but the chin breakouts are so painful, its such a shame as its perfect other than that

Chantecaille just skin might be worth trying - it’s very sheer - or was when I last used it

VanCleefArpels · 17/08/2021 12:48

Erborian dupe and more budget friendly is L’Oréal Magique CC cream. I use the “green” one to neutralise redness and it really does magically blend in colour wise and provides a great “canvas” for the rest of my makeup. As a more mature lady it doesn’t fall into lines and craters. I adore it

VanCleefArpels · 17/08/2021 12:49

@AColdDuncanGoodhew the flawless filter is VERY shiny, so depending on the finish you are after it might be good. I tend to use it as a highlighter or mixed with foundation to give a subtle glow

LouisaMayAlcott · 17/08/2021 15:04

I use Glossier Skin Tint and I love it. It's just like my skin but evened out a bit. It doesn't really look as if I am wearing anything it's so subtle, I just look like I've got great skin!

Rapidash · 17/08/2021 15:43

I like origins ginzing tinted moisturiser:

m.origins.co.uk/product/16832/46938/skincare/see-all-skincare/ginzing-spf-40/energy-boosting-tinted-moisturizer#/sku/78167

Gives a lovely glow and doesn't oxidise. Love it!

Giftwithpurchase · 17/08/2021 15:52

Bareminerals complexion rescue is lovely. Agree 100% about the Eborian CC - I use the one with ginseng and it's so nice.. far nicer than anything else I've used (a lot!)

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 17/08/2021 19:06

@76FDre421 i’ve looked at that for years! Maybe I should just splurge

@VanCleefArpels ah nice, i’ll check out the Loreal too thanks! I dont want too too shiny but I thought it I pop a wee dot where i’d normally highlight, dot my concealer around and blend with a brush it might do the job of the Trinny. No coverage but a lovely non oily looking glow?

@LouisaMayAlcott I tried that before and wasnt a fan HOWEVER, I liked more coverage then so it was way off what I loved. I adore the stretch concealer so I might buy the bundle and give the skin tint a go again. I also really want their makeup bag!

@Rapidash how deep/fair is your skin? Im really fair and tried a sample of the Origins one years and years ago, I loved the scent but it was so so orange on me. Perhaps I used too much though!

@Giftwithpurchase ooh I DO like the bareminerals CR! Hmm, another contender!

Thanks all lots to check out here. Will do my usual and research every single one meticulously before randomly picking one Grin

@AColdDuncanGoodhew I'd say I'm a light medium skin tone - 2n2 in doublewear if that helps.

Bizarrely the origins spf15 in the white tube is waaay too orange on me, but the spf40 in the orange tube is fine

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 17/08/2021 20:20

Ooh @Rapidash now i’m wondering which one I tried all those years ago, maybe it was the white tube!

OP posts:
AColdDuncanGoodhew · 17/08/2021 20:22

Done some digging, it must have been a sample of the white tube as the reviews go back 10+ years but the orange tube only goes back 4 years and I definitely tried it about 8+ years ago.

Interesting!
