URGENT! Which dress for to wear as a wedding guest.

Nivealove · 16/08/2021 17:53

Hello!

Which dress should I purchase to attend as a wedding guest? I need to make this purchase ASAP as the wedding is on Saturday and I did not anticipate that looking for a wedding dress would be so long.

I am 27 and I am a size 10.

4th is nicest.

The other colours all look pretty washed - out but if it suits you, 3rd would be my second choice. I'd order a few and send back what didn't suit. 2nd looks a bit shapeless.

Nivealove · 16/08/2021 18:10

Ok, so it's between 1 and 4. Number 2 was my favourite too but it is out of stock in my size. If I was to wear number 1, I would have used a safety pin to lesson the V-neck!

I think it’s important to take the wedding colours into account so what colour is the invitation etc?
As long as it’s not those colours it’s fine.

CambsAlways · 16/08/2021 18:11

Sorry number one reminds me of a nightie , number 2 or 3 are fine, 4 is too old fashioned and in mid sixties

hopeishere · 16/08/2021 18:12

1 looks really badly made. It's puckering in their photo.

2 is awful and 3 looks like a nightie.

TonkinLenkicks · 16/08/2021 18:13

The chi chi one. I’ve had a few bits from there and they’re lovely

Nivealove · 16/08/2021 18:13

@Treas..it is an African traditional wedding- so bright colours etc.

The first one

DollieBantrysPantry · 16/08/2021 18:17

Number 4

SleepingStandingUp · 16/08/2021 18:17

4 or 2

1 looks like fancy Pajamas
3 is gorgeous but def not for a wedding

lazylinguist · 16/08/2021 18:18

No.4 definitely!

LargeInCharge · 16/08/2021 18:18

4

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/08/2021 18:19

2

Nivealove · 16/08/2021 18:21

Number 4

Echobelly · 16/08/2021 18:21

1 looks a bit cheap and like a nightie, and wouldn't flatter many people
2 OK, but again, might not be flattering
3 Brides-maidy
4 Definitely the most likely to be most flattering and most apt for wedding

Farevalah · 16/08/2021 18:22

No 4 is lovely. The others are quite drab looking.

Nivealove · 16/08/2021 18:24

Ok, I have purchased 1 and 4. Number 2 is out of stock in my size. The first picture- from the store Hope and Ivy, their dresses are very very good quality so I'm not worried about it looking cheap.

MikeWozniaksMohawk · 16/08/2021 18:25

Definitely the fourth!

Nivealove · 16/08/2021 18:25

Thank you all :)

I like no 1, 2 & 3 are boring colours. 4 is very weddingy but I think it’s a bit like a pair of curtains and a bit old for a 27 year old. African Weddings can be v. Dressed up though, do you know the level of bling the wedding couple are going for?

Nivealove · 16/08/2021 18:31

Ha @Brown76. No I don't. I did think 4 looked a bit old fashiony-but I love the colour. Maybe I should wear a strawl on dress 1.

  1. nightie
  2. looks like a large scarf that a fashion design student has made into a dress
  3. too bridesmaidy and frilly
  4. wedding guest
footprintsintheslow · 16/08/2021 18:32

3 or 4

Thedayohthedayohtheday · 16/08/2021 18:33

Number 4!
