Fashion and lifestyle Instagram mums

So I took a break from Instagram and have recently gone back onto it. I've tried to follow some interesting Instagram influencers (outside of my art/culture Instagram accounts I follow) only to find loads of women in their 40s and 50s showcasing thin bodies and unaffordable lifestyles. Anyone else put off Instagram fashion and lifestyle accounts because of this?

Well the big popular ones are absolutely loaded, and get everything for free.

Tbh you'll be hard pushed to find one that is relatable these days.

I think it’s interesting seeing them post covid. Seeing as I go out less including to work I need far fewer clothes (and in fact never needed that many to begin with). But for the influencers who are all about clothes it feels even more jarring and pointless to see them constantly show case new looks. Feels weirdly old fashioned. Some have pivoted and seem to be doing less overall or showing holidays or doing tutorials on make up or skincare instead. I wonder if that’s deliberate/been forced and they will go back to big try one etc.

So are you asking for recommendations, or..? Just having a moan? To be fair there are lots of plus size fashion accounts out there. Just don't follow the accounts you don't want to see. Instagram can be hit and miss. Hashtags like #discoverunder5k can be quite good for finding smaller, more relatable accounts, but you do have to weed through some rubbish ones.

I'm wondering which ones to follow - I'm keen on sustainable fashion (not plus size as I'm an 8) but I'm struggling to find any. I found one or two who buy second hand/vintage..... but from Vestierre!
