Could it work or is it too 'day dress'?

If you wore heels and styled it in a evening dress style it could work. Depends on the wedding, is it a more casual wedding? Or is it pretty formal?

LawnFever · 16/08/2021 10:01

Depends how formal the wedding is, I like the dress but I’d wear something like that for work, not a wedding

Sooverthemill · 16/08/2021 10:04

It would depend on many things! Church or other venue. Evening. Day. How formal ipthe wedding is etc etc. You could definitely dress it up but it feels like a summer dress to me now an 'event' dress. But if you live up and would wear and wear it, get it!

For me it's a no, looks to casual to be wedding appropriate.

I think it might also look a bit silly paired with a hat (or other wedding head-dress), heels, and evening bag to 'dress it up' as it's too far removed from being smart so the items wouldn't pair nicely.

If it's a particularly casual wedding, in a casual setting - like a picnic in the park wedding, then maybe.

Thanks all. I think I agree, too casual. It's a hotel wedding so I'm guessing fairly smart. I've had a look through my wardrobe and found this dress that I'd forgot about. I think it might be a goer. I have how it's styled in this picture, it looks much smarter on, and also a bit longer. What do you think? I need to get shoes and a cover up of some sort. I was thinking of trying to match the pink or green on the dress for a cardi/jacket, then nude heels, or black?

Or is it too black for a wedding?

*hate how it's styled

Yes that would look nice. I don’t think it’s too black as it is patterned. I would definitely wear heels and something else to dress it up a bit

Purplecatshopaholic · 16/08/2021 11:42

Second dress is lovely - great for a wedding

vladtheimp27547 · 16/08/2021 11:42

Thanks. What colour shoes and cardi/jacket would you go for?

The nude shoes look good with it. Have you got a bright handbag?

Defiantly41 · 16/08/2021 12:33

How about this for a jacket? www.nancymac.co.uk/collections/shrugs/products/lilliana-jacket-in-sweet-pea-silk-velvet-1

There are also a couple of green versions and a different ( more lilac-y) pink

LawnFever · 16/08/2021 12:56

Second dress is much more wedding-y Smile

Jerseygirl12 · 16/08/2021 15:08

Second dress is nice.

vladtheimp27547 · 16/08/2021 17:43

Thanks everyone. I've been shopping and got nude heels and a darkish sage green jacket. Just need to find a nude bag now.
